Hey Mark, nice avatar. Looks like you've been working out. Hey Brian, even turtles need a bit of bling. How about a set of these?
I added a few hundred dead bugs to the front of the MINI while shredding around some back roads in Wayne National Forrest. Even found a surprise Covered Bridge, which made The Girl™ very happy. Tonight the MINI gets a wash. After this stupid work thing.
On the 4th, put the MINI in service mode. Found out that you don't need the 8mm x 100mm bolts to hang the rad on, you can use half inch CPVC pipe over the studs after you remove the aluminum bumper. I used 4 pieces cut to about 8 inches long, worked great. The object of all this effort was to install an ARCOL HS100 R47 (about $15.14 + shipping) resistor so my low speed fan speed would work again. No point in replacing a working fan just because the resistor is open.
Some nice new DD rubber to replace the balding cheap Chinese-made rubber I was running on previously...
NM RSB End Links Finally figured out how to set adjustable end links on my lowered MINI. I don't have to! NM's end links come pre-set for their RSa springs which I've already got. Ordered them straight away. Say goodbye pre-load. Now to sit and wait for that big brown truck, lol. :biggrin5:
I installed a NM Strut Brace and H&R 21mm Rear Sway Bar...man what difference!!! Makes the clubbie feel much better on the twisties.
Dropped it off at the dealer for a mysterious seeping oil leak... EDIT: Timing Chain tensioner bolt starting to back out. Fixed, cleaned and ready for pick-up. Glad I caught it before it turned into a catastrophic failure. :eek6:
Sent my MINI off with the auto shipper who is taking it fro Boston to Portland, OR so it will be there when I get there. I've never shipped a car before and I am feeling a bit nervous about it!
I've got my fingers crossed! I'm originally from Mass., spent 5 years living in Portland, moved back just over a year ago for some family stuff, and now going back to Portland because I love it there.
I've made my MINI smell like a tire shop. My new rims and rubber from Discount Tire showed up today. Only bad part is they aren't going to get on the car until Sunday.
I drove 3 miles to work- ALL of which was over torn-up roads that are being repaved. All I heard was fresh asphalt pinging off my car!!!!!! :mad2::mad5:
I really hate that. In my part of PA they just put down gravel, which is just as bad. I guess all the asphalt goes up your way. Jim
Yep, gravel suck-ith just as much. Luckily I just put a coat of wax on the other day. AND- they will be nice, smooth roads for my little race track to work every day
I get that smell in my car every time I go to the track because of my track rims & tires. It's a happy smell.
