My personal experience with Koni's is they don't last long. Bilstien's worked great. These were strut inserts not coil-overs. Just my .02.....
My coilover install continues today. Chad sent out the end links for front and rear, so they're on the FedEx truck now - usually comes in by 1 or 2pm. Gonna keep going on removing the Konis so I'll be ready to throw the end links and ASTs when able. Chad also hooked me up w the top "plate" - that's what MINI calls it - it's more of a washer - for the top of the rear top bushings. Let's see if this noob can get things all put back together ok.
Finally got around to performing this long overdue service yesterday - great DIY instructions saved me a bundle, but had the hardest time sourcing the fluid. A must-watch for BMW owners, too [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6GsXhBb10k"]How to Replace Blinker Fluid - YouTube[/ame]
Took my MINI out yesterday and stretched its legs for a little bit. It was nice taking a few twisties and burning off some rubber from my crappy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Sliding sideways around corners is kind of fun with those tire's but they really lack good grip. Spring is almost here so the super grippy Star Specs will be going on soon for DRAGON TIME!
after the difficult blinker fluid job on April 1, we power-bled the brakes on the red Mini today. Then an easy job on Stubby, which needed a new cold air intake after my son "borrowed" mine in the middle of winter. The old one never really worked well with the M7 strut bar, so we put the shiny DDMWorks into the car today Not impressed with the fit of the unit for the price - a 1/4" gap near the hottest area under the hood, right above the exhaust manifold. I had some aluminum tape left over from some motorcycle tank heat shielding so this was sealed quickly. Just not what you expect for $275 (K+N version) Nothing is bent in that car, bolt holes and air box base are in stock location and have never been messed with. It all came together fine, but once you line up the mounting bolts in front and rear and make sure the thing isn't twisted that will prevent you from closing the lid, you end up with that gap. Haven't driven it yet, but plan on a quick spin later tonight. Hoping for improved super charger acoustics to be at least as good as with the old (Madness Mini) intake.
Roaming around sfo and 17 mile drive Drove around 3300 Miles in last 2 weeks..had some good time with friends n family members .. ohio to colorado, arizona and California..another 2500+ miles back to Ohio from California this weekend..
WOW that's a lot of pollen!:eek6: I'm glad I'm not where you are right now, my seasonal allergies would be killing me! Also, 15 min after you washed your car and that happened? That blows
Yes. That's happening here. This is just outside Vancouver BC. I live in a forested area so lots of vegetation having sex this time of year.
Same thing here. When I drive off, there is a big puff of green pollen that I can see in the rear view mirror as it blows off of the car.
Watched the snow melt off Skooby today. April fools on April 9th. Mother Nature has a twisted sense of humor.
Bought it, brought it home, ordered tranny fluid and front lower CA bushings. Going to do some research on oil for high mileage mini (suggestions welcome). Once that's done i'll get a compression check then comes the mods Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To all those people that think my car is a garage queen. See I drove my car in the snow today to pick up 5 gallons of Meth for the Dragon.
