I gave up on my old battery today. I've charged it long enough and it's still tits up. Off to procure a new one tomorrow.
Finished polishing my car, wiped it all down with oil and polish oil remover so I could put my first layer of Kamikaze Miyabi Coat. http://www.esotericcarcare.com/kamikaze-miyabi-coat/ Next is a layer of Kamikaze ISM Coat: http://www.esotericcarcare.com/kamikaze-ism-coat/
Got my S back on Monday. New front brake pads and rotors, a new front right caliper, and replaced the rear, rusted out lines. The S just needs to be packed with cigars and other stuff before we leave to MOTD on Tuesday. :cornut:
Getting the wheels re balanced. Adding them tire letters added some weight to one side and I need her rolling smooth for next weekend! The shop is charging me 60 f'n dollars. When I said the words Cooper S he had to look at my car to make sure it's something they could do. It's balancing some wheels! How hard can it be? Says the guy who's n'er done such a thing, but Makes me wonder what they've run in to servicing these cars... Anyways, HAPPY MOTORING KIDS!
Just replaced my coolant overflow tank - glad I did, it was the original dated back to August of 2006. Time to change the transmission oil now.
During my wheel balancing the guys at the local Pep Boys here they pulled me into the shop to show me that I had a bent wheel. It wasn't all that noticeable but they found this out and showed me and it's the wheel that was allegedly replaced following my mishap with a pothole. I suspected they(Classic Collision in Union City) didn't really change it or exchanged it with a "refurbished" wheel. Since that wheel being replaced I've had 4 new tires installed at Kauffman in Fayetteville. About a week following I brought the car in to have them re-balanced due to the shaking. Not once did anyone there even hint that there was something wrong with any of my wheels, even when they chewed up 3 out of 4 installing the tires. My wheels were PERFECT mind you. What's the moral of this story? Kauffman Tire sucks and have lost a good customer. Now I get to search for a new set O wheels Oh, also, the tire balancer guy put the bent wheel in the rear so I feel 0 vibration now. He said all of the tires were WAY out of balance as well. I'm just amazed that a place that only does tires and tire related crap didn't notice a wobbly wheel. F'n millennials.
They blow at the seam after so much heat and pressure. I'm about to drive this thing 11 hours south - not something I wanted to risk at 3am in the middle of VA.
Oh, i should change mine before driving 9hrs to Texas if that's the case. It's definitely the original from 05. Looks just as brown as your old one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Received my year 3 paid membership magnetic grill badge in the mail. I renewed last year. I was wondering if it got lost in the mail or what. Nathan should have taken a drive to Vancouver. Would have gotten here faster.
I started loading stuff into the Porker... Gots to leave room, someone is actually crazy enough to make the trip with me! There's just a little more camping gear to cram back there, but he's got this much room. We'll be at the Dragon, sometime Sunday! (Hangover dependent) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm getting my wheels rebalanced on the S tomorrow...all those track days and Dragon trips since they were installed make them seem to shudder, even though the alignment is still ok.
Again, nothing. :blush2: I am a bad, bad MINI owner. My office is upstairs from my bedroom, so I don't drive everyday. I don't shave everyday. I don't wear pants everyday. Too much information? I did, however, think about how much fun it would be to take a long weekend, drive to Hot Springs, Arkansas, get a spa treatment and drive the really fine roads they have up there. You really want to drive Arkansas' many great driving roads during the day. Every road sign up there is full of bullet holes, and you gotta' figure that stuff happens at night, after the bars are closed. But, in my defense, my MINI has a very safe and comfortable garage to live in when it is not in use. It lives a pampered life. CD
