I used my deflecting beam torque wrench to check the calibration of my Harbor Freight click stop torque wrench. It is dead on spec.
How can i adjust my headlights, non projectors in the R53? Google sensei is giving me **** for tutorials or even basic diagrams of the headlight assembly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is a up-down and left-right adjustment on the back. I don't have a diagram I just wait till night and adjust them.
Today I installed the CB, never leave home without it, vacuumed the mini and put all the camping gear together. I get home from work at midnight if all goes well plan to hit the road between 5 and 6AM.
Had time today to get the wheels changed. They'll look better with the Brembo brakes. Maybe next week. Gotta go to PT and then pack my crap and get ready to leave for the Dragon. I'm heading for Asheville in the morning.
Started clean up for next weeks get togather. Pulled the wheels off so I could clean both front and rear (white wheels), washed the suspension and fender wells. That's the hard part. Next week it's wash and polish the car then clean & polish the engine bay.
I forgot to mention this was probably the third time I used this torque wrench. When I went back over the other wheels after this happened, the wrench broke. Just free spins either way. Instead of opening it up and fixing it, its getting delivered to our local Mt. Trashmore.
Well, I'm back. Just got home from Asheville. Spent all day yesterday hanging out on Vendors Alley. Eric and his guys installed a new intercooler and did some coding for me. Picked up a new tow hook from M7 and hung out with Chris at the G3 tent. Beautiful day. Talked to a bunch of folks, had a good pimento cheeseburger at the snack bar, and in general enjoyed myself. Hope to be able to spend more time at the event next year. I'm thinking about bringing the Grandson with me next time. I hope everyone else trip home is as safe and as uneventful as mine.
Giving him a well deserved rest after providing me a fun filled and event free 3 days of hard driving and the boring trips to and from the Dragon.
On Friday I had the guys at Helix install my new intercooler and do a bunch of coding. Great work as always.
I'm still trying to figure out how Jan switched my engine at the Dragon. Unbelievable, the changes it made. Those of you that know me, know that I'm not a 'racer' and love curvy roads. And, I have an auto trans. Jan played wit my car and it is absolutely perfect for me. The auto trans shift points are predicable, the throttle response is terrific and I call it my 'Dragon" tune. Jan 'made my day'...thanks...
Any more details on the differences in the trans, engine, and overall driveablility? I also have an auto and want to have Jan tune my car sometime this year. I just need to figure out when I can make it down to LA.
I need to have Jan work his magic on mine, actually. Need to intake/exhaust first, but it'll happen in due time.
I had Jan tune mine a couple of years ago and it is unbelievable. Other MINI people that drive my car can't believe the throttle response. On top of that I get better mileage. Friday I filled up at the Shell just before the parkway, drove hard all the way back to Fontana and got 21 mpg. Jan just doesn't "tune" your car. He asks what you want out of it. My answer was some more power, response, and more mpg. That's what I got.
