I wanted to get some Toyo Proxes R1R's and they're a pretty hard to get tire apparently. So, seeing that Good Year and I aren't seeing eye to eye at the moment I got my old fail-safe, BFG Sport Comp-2's. They're lighter then the Proxes at least :) And less expensive!

Those look good bud, BBS? I wanted some affordable light-ish wheels that were black :) From what I've read they're a good wheel so I pulled the trigger. They'll be in tuesday, Wed the tires come in and they get put on! :cornut:

Yep, BBS. When I bought that car, it was filthy. It looked aweful, so i got it dirt cheap (pardon the pun). It had the Billstien package and the Torsen limited slip from the factory, and low miles, so a snapped it up. The low purchase price left me lots of budget for upgrades. The BBS wheels were a bit of an indulgence... but 10.5 pounds? Worth it.

You won't find 17-inch wheels at that weight. Anything under twenty pounds on a 17X7 is really good.

With your wheel tire selection, how much unsprung weight are you dropping?

Ah, I looked at a set of BBS I liked them but they were barely 2 lbs less and were $550 per wheel... The weight of the tires is the same as the PSS's I had on the factory wheels so no weight loss tire wise but I did trim down 20lbs. of wheel weight.

These are the BBS wheels I liked-http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=RG712HDBK&wheelMake=BBS&wheelModel=RGR&wheelFinish=Diamond%20Black%20Painted&showRear=no&autoMake=MINI&autoModel=Hardtop&autoYear=2012&autoModClar=Cooper+S

I'm coming to grips with a recent and very tough decision to sell my R53... As such I gave it a dusting and a pat on the roof.

Being TDY and living out of a hotel sucks, but good news is i got confirmation that the new hatch and passenger rear quarter panel was delivered to my place in Utah. The current bits are rusted beyond repair so i got some from a pick and pull yard with no damage or rust. Not the right colour but i'm wrapping Nines this winter anyway. [IMG]

In the pic you can actually see some of the bubbling from the rust on the rear hatch, just left of the Mini emblem.

MINI won't cover it with the extended rust warranty on the FL cars? It's 12 years so you should still be good on time.

Yah... It's a tough decision to have come to. I simply don't drive it enough to warrant keeping it. I'm going to be posting it up for sale here one day next week, selling it as it's currently prepared. I'll also be selling the plethora of parts I've accumulated as well.

If anyone knows of someone who may be interested in my car, please feel free to drop me a message or an email. Thanks.
