I did my first "mod" today - pulled the retainer pins in the rear seat headrest height restriction collars. They were too high taking up valuable rear view real estate.
I had a 69 Beetle... My first car... Bought it as a HS graduation gift to myself.... I always liked how VW powered the washer bottle off the air pressure from the spare tire, yet it would stop working once the tire pressure hit the correct tire inflation pressure.. Ingenious...
I made a quick trip to the store for some beer (the only reason I would go outside today). 99-degrees right now with a heat index of 109. It is almost six, so the temperature is down a bit from this afternoon. My MINI was very happy to get back to it's garage. CD
My first VW was a dune buggy. The guy that built it didn't realize that the beetle's electric system use the the chassis for the negative and the switches worked by switching the negative. So I rewired it.
I wonder why they added them. They weren't on our '09 hardtop but the were on the '11 Clubman. They were removed pronto.
Just ran up to the store to get the cake and card for my wife's 54th birthday. But when I got their they no longer had German Chocolate Cake. But they did have a big German Chocolate Brownie. I'll have to make a cake next year.
Received h sport competition rear swaybar from outmotoring today Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Washed and detailed my S today and then took it for a drive. In the next day or so, the R50 gets detailed and ready for the big BCD in Dayton next weekend. Then, after my wife leaves for her annual visit to see her family in Spain, her S will get all spiffed up for when she returns in Sept. Busy next few weeks ahead.
Is that all she's leaving you with for a "honey-doo" list? If so, you should marry that woman. Oh, you already did. :blush2: Spiffing up a CooperS leaves a lot of time for eating fatty red meat, drinking too much and watching TV in your underwear. CD :biggrin5:
That's not a CAI. It's a HAI. That intake actually hurts performance. The factory intake is an example of a true CAI. If you're not pulling fresh air with an aftermarket intake you might as well stay stock. And take off that noisemaker.
Finally got around to doing my version of the rear seat delete. 1/2" OSB and a chunk of 2x3 and a bit of glue and fabric......
Drove the MINI to a photoshoot of a 1930 Stutz. Saw a nice red R56, possibly a JCW, on I-35 on the drive home around 1PM. It had a rear bumper I've never seen before. He actually waved. Of course, I waved back, but I'm not sure he saw it. It you are one of us, Cheers! Now, I sit by the phone waiting to find out if I'm flying to California tonight to shoot a couple high dollar cars tomorrow. Probably the worst thing about my job -- wait, wait, wait... Run!!!! CD
