Today, I got my gauges in where I want them. AND, I again drove pepper for the first time since June. With the top down. In perfect weather. AND life is good.

I think you missed my point... again. :frown2:

They got £4,400 for that Enzo detail. That's $5,852 in real money. Get you some of that!

No, I got your point but people do not pay that here in the USA and you only get one of those every 6 months if your lucky.

Detailing full time is hard work as I have done it. Even if you get a contract with a highend dealership the cars do not come in the door everyday to cover the overhead bills like products, electric, water, lights and rent.

Right now I am retired from detailing and only have a select few I do work for at my own home on nights and weekends from time to time.

Looked around locally and all the interior shops wanted about $400-500 to do what I wanted to the wheel ( a little thicker, custom leather wrap with color coded stitching and 12o'clock ring, flattened out the bottom)-----looked on ebay and found a guy in Poland that does them for $300--told him what I wanted, $45 shipping and 6 weeks later I had it--takes PayPal so it was covered--I can look at my history and find his link if ya want,,,,,,,,,,

the textured paint , not sure what it was ; my friend Kevin is a body guy @ MINI and he did it (wanted to since he hasn't had one to do in years :D)

Redline goods? I had them do a shifter boot and parking brake boot.....great quality stuff. I had forgotten they do wheels. Will check them out as it seems they have a US installer for the wheels and it says it only takes a few days for the work.

Alcantara will hold up if fine if you wash your hands and don't use your wheel as a napkin if you eat in your car.

Use a stiff tooth brush on occasion to clean it.

I've been using an Alcantara wheel on a racing simulator for more miles than I've driven the real car, and even 5 years later it feels like the new thing.

When it gets real dirty from those burgers you should not eat in the car, you'll have to wash it. It's totally synthetic stuff, so get at it with soap and water and it'll probably come out fine. When dry, use the brush to fluff it back up

No such mobile headliner guy around here. All big dollar bring your car to the shop options.

I got it done, and yes, the hardest part is the application of glue and fabric. I think my glue application was too thick at the beginning, and the fabric was under too much tension between the outside edge that stuck first, so it was was able to pull itself off a little in some spots, plus one place has a crease, but towards the front it is all pretty nice and like new.

Time consumption was too many hours before and after the glue part. Those seat belt sliders are a pain to get back into the pillar covers... However, now that I know what to do, it'll take half as long when we get tired of the flaws in the one I did. Maybe some Alcantara for the headliner next time.

Seriously, running into this guy every morning is getting old. I did take the time to turn in to Chick Fila with him today and ask if he knows about the Mini and Mustang history, he said he's never seen any of the old vintage races or recent vintage races but he'd check em out. Also found out his Rustang is far from stock, so I feel better about getting my doors blown off... Every day.... :) He did say I got a "cool little car". I told him I wish I could say the same about his. Cool dude right there. Wish most ford crapbox drivers were as nice as him.

It's not really an issue for muah. I'm an early riser. On day's I don't work I can sleep in till 7 at the latest. The few hours before dawn are my favorite. Best hours for fishing, driving, biking.. You name it :cornut:
