Drove my MINI to Foat Wuth (AKA: Fort Worth). Not a fun drive.

But, I did get to drive a car that has eluded me for many years... a Sunbeam Tiger. A nice one, and Maxwell Smart red.

Amazingly good. The clutch was like a leg press at a gym, bit it engaged smoothly. The sound was awesome. The power of a V8 in a Miata-size car was way more refined than I expected. It was fast, but not in a scary way.

If I could afford it, I would love to buy the one I drove today. Most of the ones I've seen over the years didn't appear to be as well restored, so I'm not sure what they are like.

I decided that I'd really follow through and sell the R53. If interested, please email or PM me.

Took my wife to a local neighborhood eatery for lunch today.... "The Market"
Had their exceedingly delicious club sandwich....
Buttered and toasted sourdough bread, sliced heirloom tomatoes, their own smoked bacon and of course lettuce...
And the big surprise.... several thin slices of smoked lox.... Very tasty indeed....

On the return trip back to the shop.... I noticed the rear sunroof sun shade has delaminated from the track ribbon and is no longer staying in the track...
Looks like I'll be reviewing the Bentley manual and working on a replacement....
First niggling issue with my 7 year old MINI.... Not to shabby I'd say...

I was wanting to go out for a big country breakfast this morning, but it was raining, and I didn't want to get my MINI dirty.

So, I stayed home and ate a bowl of Cheerios. :frown2:

I haven't done a damn thing to pepper... but, I made an appt. at Detroit Tuned to have a lot of stuff done, mostly just cosmetic. And I think that is it as far as mods go. I don't have a shop in Cincy that I trust so it's a nice road trip, and Chad and Nick know their 'stuff'. It's going to be a fun time....

Today I took the MINI out in the rain and went to AT&T wireless to have my new 12.9 iPad Pro set up and connected to the cellular network so I don't have to just use Wi-Fi.

New iPad Pro is so effing fast.

Well maybe, I have to wash the Wife's Lexus RX 350, then maybe my MINI. I also have Monday off for a full detail that will be dropped off tomorrow so I may get started on that first.

I also have football to watch so my MINI may get pushed back until Monday sometime.

    No damage to the MINI.
Looks like I'll need a new roof for the house though.
Could've been a whole lot worse.

Yeah, it is good to hear that the damage seems to be all wind related. I've lived in hurricane country, and if you have wind AND flood damage, it gets complicated. Two separate insurance policies -- and they do fight with each other over who should pay for what.

It sounds like AAONMS got out of this storm okay. At least I hope so. If a "new roof" means new shingles, that is pretty good after a hurricane. If a "new roof" means you can look up from your living room and see sky, that's an entirely different thing.

It's good that you only need a roof.

Still rainy here today so no car washing.
