I actually started on Friday afternoon, but so far I have: replaced the belt tensioner, idler pulley, belt, and crank seal. installed an ATI dampener and Craven 15% pulley. installed Vibra Technics mounts (all three). also replaced the starter on wife's minivan. Still need to install Helix short shift kit and Craven STDs, but it is slow going outside on a dirt driveway - and with a mile long honey-do list.
Was looking at my Spring 16 pictures from the Dragon and I had a thought. Does anyone know who this CM belongs too, on M/A? I want to know the source of the Dragon graphic on the side? Anyone? Thanks.... Don
Alan and Bev Miller. Members of Sunshine Minis. Don't know whether or not they're on MA. Sent using Tapatalk
I ordered a new OEM clutch and all the additional parts today. *** Nothing is wrong with mine now, but I am going to have it replaced this Winter since it has almost 100K on it. Last thing I need is for it to go at the Dragon next Spring, because when I drive, I drive hard.
Not today... Not yesterday... Sadly not even this week... Heck it might have been last month because I haven't had a MINI in my possession for so long I think I forgot what it feels like... But, I kinda like the look of this... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The OEM is a great clutch and has easily lasted with all the abuse and power I have thrown at it. It is still holding up great now at almost 100K Cost was not an issue because 'I have a guy" so I get OEM parts at almost cost. I also have a brand new OEM flywheel sitting on my shelf. Why not go with what I know? I am also replacing the seals including the rear main seal.
Replaced the rear hatch support lifts on the R53. Easy and rewarding task. I had forgotten how high up that hatch goes!
Well, the weather is perfect for me to do a major cleaning/pampering of my MINI. But, my old-arse body threw a monkey wrench into that. About once every five years, give and take, my spine (lower back) decides to remind me that it can mess me over whenever it wants to. It can be something as simple as bending over to pick piece of paper on the floor. BOOM, knife in the back kind of pain. Seriously??? It always goes away in a few days, but by then, the weather will probably suck. I still need a new clay bar. I guess I can shop for that while I wait on my back to leave me be. The pads for my PORTER-CABLE 7424XP are still good. I have ten years worth of free Meguiar's products on the shelf. Once my back get's right, I have no excuses. CD
I found my MINI while I was laid up in bed with a back issue. I was bored out of my mind after the second day and got online and found it. I would've looked that evening, but it would've already been sold.
It's always the simple things that make the back go out. Not the heavy lifting. Mine first went out in my 20s I was picking up the hose to wash the car. I know many are aware of chiropractors and they do work to put things back in place. But I also recommend an electronic pulse massager. It's the thing that small shocks into your muscles. The one I got works well it's from Santa Medical, not to be confused with Santa Clause. It's not expensive and loosens up tight muscles better anything else I've tried.
Found out last night that the clunking from Bitsy's front end has been my outer cv's. Weekend project I brought her into the dealership to have this symptom diagnosed a few months ago and $180 later they tell me that they'd tackle the right front strut, mount, and end link. I installed all of those parts and None of the above were the issue. Thank you MINI of Kennesaw, for the time and effort you didn't put into diagnosing something so simple and auto tech student could find in 10 minutes of just pulling on **** to see if it moved.
Here are the clay bars I use on all the cars I detail. $12.99 with Amazon Prime / free shipping https://www.amazon.com/Simoniz-S57-Perfect-Finish-Detailing/dp/B0081OSRQQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1479304936&sr=8-4&keywords=clay+bar
