Wuarshed the MINI and parked it upstairs out of the way in the back of the shop. Need to hook up my battery tender and cover it with a sheet of visqueen to keep the metal dust off the paint. It's ready for "The Big Sleep" now. Is it Spring yet?
Winter is here. Had the sno-shoes balanced & installed on Babs lil clubster Skooby. All set for the next driving season. Hoping for an easy winter. :fingerscrossed: :snowblower:brr
Dave I hope you have better luck getting your parts than I am. Ordered a new lens, tracking shows it got within 20 miles of my house. Then it was shipped to Detroit, then it went to Pittsburgh & then Cincinnati. As of now it is on a truck headed to it's destination. Wonder where that will be???
After our 2100 miles trip to NB and MO and back to CO, developed a bit of a coolant leak, had the 2011 towed to Schomp this AM, who knew, MINI redesigned the hose and thermostat assembly for CM, thus not a separate thermostat which is the culprit, so with the new part this is now a warranty repair. Thank you Schomp. How many people bust off the little air damns under their MINI on curbs, tall rocks etc? Apparently they are there to help gas mileage, we shall see. Expensive little buggers. Changing the oil too, it was black and but computer is showing 6000 more miles, I think not! Don
Wow our local dealer sure didn't offer to warranty it on my buddies 50K mile 2011 Countryman...he just paid to have it replaced last week, also with the new part you got.
Just put the winter, s heavy, wheels on and the rubber floor mats. These are almost 10lbs more per wheel than my summer set and I can really tell the difference.
The extra wheel weight will make it easier for you to make a right hand turns.... Left hand turns will be harder... https://youtu.be/GeyDf4ooPdo
I took my MINI out of the garage today on this cold dark rainy night to take my wife to pick up her completely repaired Lexus Rx 350. Her baby (Princess mobile ) looks brand new again from us being rear-ended by a kid texting while driving almost a month ago. FYI ~ The kid hit us doing 45 while we were stopped at a light and hit us so hard he pushed is into the car in front of us. My wife is a very safe driver and she stops at least 8 feet behind people for just this reason. The total bill was $14,500 and we did not pay a penny. YAY Glad she got her car back on her Birthday today. P.S. Now I have to wash my car again. :incazzato::incazzato::lol::lol:
You didn't quite match my rear-ender tab, but came close. About ten years ago, my 2004 Audi A4 3.0 quattro six speed (rare) was rear ended at a red light by a Ford Expedition, and shoved into a Ford Explorer. $16,000 final bill. The guy who hit my car had no insurance, so my insurance paid the whole 16K, minus a 500-dollar deductible. About 20 years ago, I got rear ended by a guy in a Dodge pickup. I was in the POS van I bought for my business, and the damage was minimal. But, the guy got out after the collision, came up to my van, and genuinely asked me if I was okay. I was. Then he got back in the truck and took off. Turns out, the truck was stolen. A car thief with somewhat of a conscience. LOL CD
9-3/4 times out of 10, if you see a clunker on the street you can bet it's being operated without insurance.
I think NASCRAP still uses steel wheels, to go with the pushrod engines in their racing family sedans. CD
