Just went and put the Bimmer back in... safe to say, there's no MINI here. Or tools... Or parts... Even my couch is gone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today I did not have much time to work on the Runt. I did fill the transmission with gear oil. When I started putting the second qt in it I gave it too much air pressure and the bottle blew open. I lost about a 1/3 of it and got oil everywhere! The transmission oil is about a 1/4in from the fill hole, that should be enough. After cleaning up my mess. I got the sub frame installed. Tomorrow I just have a few odds and ends to do then I can put the bumper back on it and take it for a drive! I can't wait.
Nothing! I did nothing today with my MINI! Why, you might wonder… After allowing it to rest all last week, yesterday I drove approximately 10 miles without incident, returned home, and left the car safely ensconced in the garage. Went out into the garage several hours later and was greeted with a large pool of coolant under the car. Some thanks for allowing the car a rest I guess. Once again, my 18 year old Jeep comes to the rescue and takes me to work - sad state of affairs when a well-used Jeep is the more dependable vehicle. Sent using Tapatalk
I understand it is the same for people too: You tend to leak a little at inopportune times. Is that true Dave.0 Sent using Tapatalk

C'mon buck up big guy !! Just think of how much fun you'll have next weekend driving all over the countryside.
I know of at least one person with a Stage 3 Dinan R53. He had the means to afford the bits and liked it. It was also reliable. The only issue was when Dinan stopped making replacement parts for the wear and tear items that had him worried. I can't remember if it was brake pads or bushings or what. He also has other far more exotic cars than a MINI.
Since replacing the CVT on my '03 MC in the Spring, I have been "driving it like I stole it" and it just turned 63k yesterday [CVT replaced at 61k]. Life is good.
My wife let her R53 get down to 44 miles left in the tank and my R50 was down to 65 miles left so I filled them both up for 40 cents off each gallon of premium. I'm sure that while both cars loved being full again I sure enjoyed not having to pay full prices!
