Not a big fan of directionally spoked wheels where one side looks backwards compared to the other side. Other than that it looks fabulous.
Finally warm enough to wash the salt off the Justa. I think that ODOT got a good deal on salt this year. I was driving a white MINI with a white roof. :mad5:
At least cars don't rust like they used to. I remember our cars in the 60s having holes in them in just a couple of years. CD
I normally don't like car-colored wheels, but it IMO it works on this car. The car has a blue interior that kind of slaps you in the face at first, but grows on you. It also still has the Porsche factory mobile phone, with spiral cable. It is something I would probably leave in the car just for grins and as a conversation-starter. CD
Dropped into a bookstore in Vancouver (BC Canada) and found they had Modern MINI magazine there. There was a lightly modified black-eye-purple MINI on the cover so I bought a copy of the magazine.
I found out what the clutch problem was on my MINI. A bolt fell down from under the dash today while driving to a photoshoot. It is one of the bolts that attaches the clutch pedal arm to the car. Somewhat important. But, lucky for me, the photoshoot was at a restoration shop, and one of the mechanics fixed it for me. BTW, I was shooting a very interesting car. It is a replica of a Ferrari 340 Mile Miglia race car, built on a Ferrari 400 chasis, with a Ferrari six-carb V-12. It is six-percent larger than the original F340, and pretty much all fabricated from scratch. The quality of workmanship was awesome. CD .
Thursday... I installed a new set of rear seat bar bushings and did an oil change. Currently, standing in the lobby of the local post office to see what the steps are for filing a claim against a "delivered" package that is nowhere to be found.
Once again, I parked it at the airport, covered parking. Missouri today, Kansas tomorrow, who knows where on Monday. CD
Walked past the MINI sitting in it's warm garage. Will keep it off the road until Mother Nature decides to stop sending the fluffy white frozen water at us, which means the local municipality will stop spreading the crunchy white crystals sometimes used as a food seasoning, but is more likely a collusion to drum up more business with the local paint shops for the purpose of collecting additional sales taxes... You gotta follow the money.... Will still wait for Mother Nature to provide several good healthy free showers before venturing out...
Looked at my Summer tires and rims sitting in the corner of my garage waiting for all this damn snow to melt. :mad2: She may get dusted off this weekend. :ihih: 46 Days, 04 Hours, 57 Minutes to go...
Damn, don't know how you with snow do it ... I didn't drive mine yesterday because I had to pick up some stuff in my truck. This morning my eye and accelerator foot were twitching ...
Stopped by my local CanadianTire store and bought a set of wheel cleaning brushes. 1 for brushing off brake dust 1 with bristles for scrubbing off grime and stuff on wheel spokes.
Towed my classic Mini with my 2009 Clubby to the hill country north and west of San Antonio for a week of charging the twisties with a group of other classic Minis, then home again to KC. Long week, but tons o fun. 1600 miles driven in the Clubby, 600 in the Classic - that's a good week of driving in a MINI/Mini!
No more Mini cooper....exchanged coupe for Challenger GT AWD had lots of fun, driving the coupe...gonna miss it.. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Traded it for a 2009 JCW. The new to me one is still at the dealership getting its windshield replaced. They gave me a loaner justa F56. Compared to my 2003 justa, this car definitely has more power, the interior is very nice and it rides very smooth. It DOES NOT handle like my '03 at all. The controls feel disconnected and the steering is sluggish. I guess I could fumble through the infotainment system to see if there is some sort of sport mode. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
