Nice wheels! Here's a link for some center caps. Not sure if you have to buy the JCW logo, part 5, separately, or if the cap also comes complete with logo. http://parts.miniofkennesaw.com/products/Mini/Hub-cap--silver-J-COOPER-WORKS/1300369/36136779555.html
I decided since it was nice this weekend I would strip my cars coatings by slow compounding and repolishing the whole car on Saturday. Today I wiped it down with Gyeon Prep to remove any oils left over from polishing and applied two coats of KAMIKAZE MIYABI coating. Later this week I will apply KAMIKAZE ISM coating to finish the job.
Thanks for the information. Now if I just knew if I had to use the 205/40-18 tires or I could use 215/45-18's. My Mini is not lowered and I know the 16's seem pretty close to the rear lower control arms although these are 52mm offset rather than the 16's 48mm and they are 12.7mm" wider than the 16's. Guess we'll see.
This site should help show the differences in the wheel and tire clearances. http://www.willtheyfit.com
repositioned the winter hibernation covers and checked on the trickle chargers. Weather and road conditions still too crappy here to get on the road. Soon...
Non-MINI content Took a ride in Southern Ohio last Friday. The day of 1,000 detours. We managed to stay on the high ground, but it wan't easy.
Thanks for the site. It looks like I can get away with a 215/45-18 as it looks like the 205/40-18 will produce about the same results. I guess we'll have to try the 215 and see.
Not in my Mini..oops..forgot that i dont have a mini . But drove to California, from Ohio in Dodge Challenger over the weekend...it was a nice drive..but missed Mini coupe... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Bill & I stayed on high ground, didn't want to be Das Boot. It was a fun day of detours & driving on roads I hadn't used before.
As a follow up to the new dipstick issue a few days ago, I pulled out the "new" $5 amazon ("OEM from China") dipstick to check my oil yesterday and it broke at exactly the same spot as the original one. A $5 lesson learned.
The Craven dipstick is pretty near impossible to break.... Made from a coiled spring and made in Merica...
I sold it. Wife and I are going to see how it works with just one car. If not well, I think I will give some consideration to a TT.
I am testing a new window glass coating that should blow away RainX and AquaPel. I put it on today and we will see how well it works at the Dragon in a month and all summer long with regular car washes. Expensive? Yes $75.00 for only 20 cc . I did all the external windows, mirrors and sunroof glass on my MINI (1) time and the bottle was about empty. Lets see how good it is and if it last. :ihih: The bottle below may look like a lot but it is not and is only 1/4 of the way full = 20 cc. Glass Coating is a must if you live in an area with frequent snow fall. Rain, sleet, ice and snow will not stick to treated exterior glass surfaces, providing you with a clearer view of the road ahead. Optimum Opti-Glass Coating is the long awaited glass and windshield coating from Optimum Polymer Technologies, one of the leading innovators in surface care protection products. Optimum Opti-Glass Coating is a resin-based glass coating that forms a durable layer of protection against environmental contaminants, leaving your windshield and exterior glass clean and protected. Directions: 1.Only apply when the temperature is between 60°-90° F (15°-30°C). Do not apply in direct sunlight. 2.Thoroughly clean surface and use Optimum Opti-Eraser to remove bonded contaminants. Polish glass if scratches are present. 3.Before applying, wipe glass down with a 15% solution of isopropyl alcohol. 4.Spray Opti-Glass directly onto foam applicator pad and apply in an overlapping, circular motion. 5.Allow Opti-Glass to cure for 2 minutes and remove excess with a clean, dry microfiber towel.
Mine is at the dealership service department again. This time I have a 4 door S loaner. Despite having a face only a mother could love and an automatic transmission, it isn't awful like the justa F56 I had a while back. I sure hope they can get my car straightened out. My R50 was relatively trouble free during the time I had it. My R56 JCW has already been back to the dealership service department twice. I'm going on 2 weeks of ownership. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
