Late posting, but on Saturday I replaced the e-brake cables on the R53. Nice to have that done even though the driver side was a pain!
Also got the winter wheel/tire sets off and the summer sets on for the R53, the R60 and the Mazdaspeed6. The R60 got a bath too. Big day.

The Craven dipstick costs $400 in Canada. As nice as it is, I can't cost justify that with against a $40 original MINI dipstick that lasted 12 years.

I would definitely make my own dipstick before I'd spend $400 for one or even $75. Heck, it's not like it's a complicated thing.

You'd have to be quite a dipstick yourself to drop $400 on a dipstick. Thing better change the oil for you too.

After applying 2 layers of KAMIKAZE MIYABI coating this weekend and letting them cure for a few days I applied a layer of KAMIKAZE ISM COAT today after work.

Now it can sit for a few more days and this weekend I will put on the Dragon / Summer rims and tires.

"what is this dipstick of which you speak?" said the third Gen MINIs ...

$400? That is crazy ... You're right, its a 'stick' a very poorly designed stick on my previous MINI, I might add.

Kamikaze is an unfortunate choice for the name of a product. It sounds like it will self destruct. :biggrin5:

Well it is from Japan which is the leader in glass coating technology. Also with the results and protection it provides it's hands down "The Bomb."

I don't care if its called Mexican dog poop, because the stuff works very well.:lol::lol::lol:

Drove to the good beer store to get some good beer for National Beer Day. Not going to say what I got, because beer is like religion and politics -- to controversial for a car forum. :beer

I ordered some little flashlights that replace the cigarette lighters. It's still at the dealership awaiting a turbo transplant. I'm soooo tired of the automatic F55 loaner, so I drove my Yukon today. The f series cars are so big they actually have a middle seat in the back and it still bothers me that I can't hear any turbo sounds.

Rotated and balanced the wheels/tires as part of my ongoing prep for a 2200 mile tour of my state in a couple weeks.

Went over 5k on my R50 CVT replacement tranny today and it's not even a year old. I'm REALLY happy with it...now, on to the Dragon!

Dropped off the R60 at 7 am today for diagnosis. Engine malfunction with reduced power had popped up a couple times with stuttering, etc.
Got the call in the afternoon - high pressure fuel pump problem. Covered by MINI extended warranty (yay). They are keeping it over the weekend.

Loaner is a nice black Clubman S All4. Fairly nice ride. I like the seat bolsters quite a bit.

Took the loaner Clubman S All4 on a beer run and ended up parked by this little beauty - Lotus Elise. I imagine driving that gives a lot of smiles per mile.:drool

The lotus looks like it could drive right up inside the clubvan Italian job style.
