Having trouble up loading a pic, but if you go to this thread, you'll see it...http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/classic-mini/21051-mini-max-has-new-little-brother-buzz.html
Just finished loading the car. Now I'm just sitting around drinking coffee until it's time to check my copilot out of school. Couldn't talk his Mom into letting him miss two full days of school. So, we'll be stopping at a lady friends place outside Asheville for Dinner and the night and should pull into Fontana bright and early tomorrow. Although, from listening to the weather guessers it'll be more wet than bright.
Thank you sir. This one is a few years newer than mine. It's a W reg, mine was an M reg, 1973. I just looked my reg number up, REW604M, registered in Peterborough. The color is a little different and my wood panels were chrome outlined and a little wider. Now, I've got to dig out those pix and post them! Good little family car back in the day. Chuck
Strange weather this weekend. Trees down all over the area around the Dragon. Rained off and on all day yesterday and today. Blue Ridge Parkway closed because of snow. The Lodge had no power or water until 6 pm yesterday. Not many vendors open and a lot of them packed up and left yesterday. My Grandson and I made a couple of runs yesterday and had a detailing guy spiff up the car in between rain showers. Today we did the Dragonfire run and came back to hang out on vendors alley for a while. That's when we found out most had left. I did manage to get the vendor for Renew Protect to treat my windshield with his ceramic coating treatment. Stuffs like Rainex on crack. Then the bottom fell out again and while we were sitting in the lobby wifi zone a couple walked through and told us about the Parkway. Heading to the farewell dinner in a little while and calling it a night. On the road in the AM heading home, with a stop in Asheville for breakfast and to pick up my dog. My Grandson is having a blast though. It's his first time at the Dragon.
Today I warshed Babs clubster. I think she went off roading last week. The last car warsh lasted 3 days until it was coated in a layer of mud. Here is hoping it at least lasts a week this time. :fingerscrossed:
My Cooper performed really well down to the Dragon, while there and on the way back home again, through all the fallen timber during our ride of terror thru the Dragon on Thursday!
Took one last ride on the Dragon, on my way home... around 0530. Got home to DE a little after 1600. Until next year.
Got home tonight around 1800. Mini is gonna get a few days rest while my knees recover. This old fart is tarred.
I know the feeling well... But, it WAS fun....right? No sense in going if it's not fun....:nonod:
Lots of stuff today. Installed my new intake. Cleaned the engine bay up a bit. Cleaned the interior too. And polished the headlights.
