Took Ryu up to one of my local shops for some more TLC. Met up with a bunch of fellow MINIAcs for brunch. Then came home and gave Ryu a bath. Good MINI day overall
I just washed and Hydro'ed the outside and vacuumed and Nero'ed the inside and put her back in the garage. Maybe tomorrow I will do the glass and wax.
Just came in, did 125,000. miles oil change. The tubing on my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve slipped out of the jug and deposited about a quart of oil on the driveway as opposed to the parkway but you know what I mean. A BIG mess.
18 MINIs, 1 Miata & 1 MINI bike in the Oak Cliff Mardi GRAS parade! Including a Roadster, a Coupe & 2 Countrymans (Countrymen?!)!!!
I refreshed the bushings in my upper rear strut mounts. The whole car sits 1cm higher in the back now!
Wow! That's interesting. Those are both stock right? How many miles on that bushing? Do you have a Cooper or an S?
No rattling or squeaking. The car just sat very low... even lower than when I put the coil-overs on last year. A discussion thread is over here: http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/suspension-brake-modifications/12215-upper-rear-strut-mounts.html#axzz1mwBIjPl0
My long suffering best friend & wife bought herself, *with my help* a new to her Chocolate Brown Clubster. Now we have 2 MINI's in the stable. I did nothing to mine today, but spent some time going over Babs new Clubster. Aired the tires & killed the flat tire nanny. Loosened & re-torqued the lug bolts. Oh my god were they ever over torqued. It took a 24 breaker bar with my floor jack handle slipped over it as a cheater to break them loose.:frown2: Holy carp, if we'd had a flat we'd have been up the creek without a poodle for sure. PSA.... Everyone check your lugs at home, you too may have lug bolts tightened by Son of Kong. :mad2:
