Finally washed my car after 3 weeks in the garage. I was out of town for a while.

I finally put the GP back together on Sunday, with the new LSD, clutch and seals, so i drove it to work this morning. I also ran the tubing for the meth injection before I secured the underbody panels.

While mine is still cosmetically iffy mechanically it's just fine. I am enjoying playing with the driving modes and just experiencing the car for what it is.

I don't think Green does anything except try to get you to be more efficient with the stick. Anyone know more about that mode?

I drove my MINI to Oregon to see the total eclipse. The road to Salem Oregon was wide open on Sunday morning, hardly any traffic and on Monday morning the traffic was also light. We saw about a minute and 3/4 of totality, it was really weird.

The trip home, however was stop and go for 40 miles and then it started flowing freely for no apparent reason. A one hour drive took seven hours!

Today, I'm going to give the MINI a bath, and clean the dog hair out of the interior as we brought the dog.

Just cleared 8k on the newly replaced CVT on my '03 R50! It's running well and I expect more miles in the future.

Yeah it gets dusty in the garage since I open the door everyday. I use the garage as my outdoor conference room when on calls which allows me to smoke during the calls.:ihih:

I have done nothing with my Mini. I put the Helmet in the garage Sunday and drove the Runt to work where it will sit till Saturday when I get back. I think I may know what the odd roaring noise may be on the R53. Its very loud when you push in the clutch as the motor spins down...........SC going bad. It has been down on power lately. When I go from it to the Helmet the Helmet is stupid fast. I know it is faster but I don't think it could be night and day faster. It is a very loud noise that is tied to engine RPM, maybe I will get lucky and it will only be the water pump.

This morning I put a second coat of Por-15 on the subframe, unboxed another RockAuto delivery with a can of Pentosin, another power steering hose, new water pumpo, and top of the line MOOG end links. Going to get that thing assembled by weekend, then back into the car, unless I totally change my mind and order everything to do that remote oil cooler install now while I have perfect access to the oil filter housing. I do have another Mini to drive, and as of Saturday, there will be a third R53 in my driveway waiting to get some service... :D

Lee - Let me know if you need a good SC that has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 15% pulley.

I have one sitting on my shelf in the garage :ihih: Its my old one with about a 100K on it but it has been serviced and in perfect condition and the black rotors look great.

Thanks Dave! When I get home I am going to see if that is it. I don't really hear it at idle but when going through the gears the sound is supper loud. It sounds like when the fan clutch is locked on some cars. It use to only do it when it got hot now it always does it. The SC is the only thing spinning that could make such a loud noise.

Felt a bit shocked out of my shoes when another MINI driver going the other way, while on my way to work this morning, wave at me while smiling. :eek6:

I usually give the two finger salute whenever a I pass another MINI, but this person was waving before I could get my hand off my shifter.

I installed a shift well cover from Craven and modified and installed my billy club from Sneed's Speed. It was originally in my R50. It sat way too high in this car for my liking, so I drilled it out so that it now sits a little more than an inch lower. I also tapped it out to accept a more substantial set screw, since the one it came with was pretty wimpy. I suppose I need to do something about the old nasty all season R50 floor mats next.

Sorry but I have never liked the looks or feel of the Billy Club shift knob.

Same setup that I had in my R56.

This is my F56. Used the Cravenspeed adjustable short shifter in both.

I wave to other MINI drivers, but rarely get a return wave. When I had my Miatas, it seemed like just about everyone waved to each other.

For sunroof cars, the billy club has one advantage over a lot of other aftermarket knobs-it's made of delrin and doesn't cause second degree burns to the hand after sitting outside all day in the sun.
