Can always use some sunroof covers. Even when I didn't have the covers the shifter was never too hot to touch after sitting in the sun all day. Only thing new with the MINI, since it's finally cooling off a little bit down here she feels fantastic :beer
Those are nice. I thought about buying one for my R56, and probably will eventually, but for now I'm using what I already had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reinstalled my NM Tuning Module. Found that when it was in for warranty work last month they lost one screw for my intake and stripped another. Stripped out the allen head on one of the hood latch bolts and reinstalled it with vise grips from the look of it. And now I have what looks like water spots on the CF intake and the painted engine cover that will not come off. They did a brake fluid flush and replace so that's the only thing I can think of that could have done it. Other than that, I'm trying to get the car cleaned up before heading to VIR tomorrow.
My shifter. Will get two more for the other cars before they disappear from the market. Sure wished they made an alcantara version for the R53, but R56 is all I can find in that material
I would be tempted to give them a call. The mechanic should do a better job than that. Have fun at VIR and take pictures.
Mine's a 2009 MINI..... And today it got its first interior cleaning.... It got a thorough vacuum and damp rag wipe down.. It's all spiffy now... It wasn't really dirty.... Had dust in some of the nooks and crannies... I drive with the windows down a lot... It must have reached equilibrium.... Dust coming in pushed inside dust out... And if you drive really fast it creates sort of a vacuum and the inside dust gets sucked out more.... Yeah.... I'm sticking with that scenario.... I probably should check the cabin filter...
This weekend I installed a new updated boost gauge. Matches everything perfectly. I also cleaned up and replaced the old vac line, T-fitting and cleaned up the wiring. All nice and tidy and stealth install, just the way I like it. :ihih: https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/boost-gauges/def1-df06502-defi-red-racer-boost-gauge-imperial-52mm-30-psi
I got the Helmet's new tag. It had water spots on it so it got a bath before I put it up. This meant washing it in the rain. I know I am crazy.
I love washing cars in the rain because it the best way to insure no soap dries on the car from sun and heat because everything stays cool and dry. We are not crazy, we are just smarter than others. I pull the cars inside and use a very strong leaf blower to remove all the water and only need to use a 16 x 16 hand towel to blot off the rest. I am not worried about scratches because more cars I detail need cut and polishing anyhow. With my personal car in wash and blow dry and all the water is gone without a trace because it is Gyeon MOHS silicon dioxide (SiO2) coated. All the water runs right off. :ihih::lol: Wax and sealants are so 2000-ish.
The b***h is leaking coolant. Not really sure where, but it's slow. I looked underneath and couldn't really see where it's coming from, there was dried coolant all over the hoses. Could be coming from around the thermostat area. I'm lucky I was tinkering around test fitting some emblems yesterday or I would've never known. Until it was too late of course. Monitored temps on the way into work today and it never went over 225. Headed to the shop today.
Welcome to the club. There are two kinds of Jarvic's in MINI's. The ones that have failed & the ones that are about to fail.
She's got a new Jarvic, and apparently it needed some 40 dollar adapter to fit. Also, the only thing good about the dealer is that they take walk ins.
Never heard of an adapter for the T-stat, but then again my my R56 was an '07. Didn't need one when mine was replaced.
