I remember the 70's oil embargo clearly, I was living in Wash DC then and had to get up around 4:30 in the morning to get in a gas line to buy maybe seven gals. max. And that was only on tues., thur., and sat. Thank god it did not last.
Brought another one home the 2005 R53 trifecta is complete... electric blue is the new kid on the block. The trifecta had to color code our keys... color coding keys
94k miles on these beauties Bad front control arm bushings and tomorrow this whole setup will go back in. Took me 2 weeks to get all the rusty and worn parts replaced. Pretty much only the main steering rack is original. subframe getting close
Drove my MINI, plus an RC mini MINI in a parade today. Then I backed my car into a pole and scratched the bumper up.. first time in owning the car for 15 years
Today I corrected / repaired my Aquamist HFS-6 Meth system that was not showing proper flow on the gauge only since last week when I did my new boost gauge install. :incazzato: I must have bumped flow control valve electronics last weekend causing the issue. On the flow control board here is a little 1/8" or smaller squarish chip that sits in the recess of the flowsensor tube. The little chip was not close enough it wont sense the turbine spinning and would not show the flow on the gauge. Everything is back to working 100% now. I am just waiting for my 1.0 jet to go with my new RMW Grand Am CAM, ViPEC and wide band O2 to add a lot more Tq and HP. RMW POWER FTW! I can't wait to get away from the limits of the silly OEM Siemens/BMW/MINI ECU. Word of advice, never start modding a MINI because you will never stop. :ihih::lol::lol::lol:
Pulled the car out of the garage, cleaned the wheels, washed the car and tucked it back in the garage for the week.
Got back from the Portland All British Field Meet with a second in class trophy. Must have been some electric blue lovers as it was the only one there........ abfmpdx.com
Still waiting on the front grill piece for mine. Hoping my JCW will be done before the long trip to Tulsa, OK next weekend. In the meantime I bought a front license plate bracket that screws into the tow hook threading in anticipation of having my JCW home.
Will heading to Franklin, Tennessee for a few days, leaving in a couple of hours. Our first trip in the car and we are anxious to see how it does.
Looked at my car sitting in the garage, knowing that I would have to clean it for the end of summer event of our local club is having this weekend and thought.......I really wished Dave O. lived closer.
After changing oil on the new car, and instead of finishing up the subframe on the car that's been sitting on jacks for almost a month now, I got sucked into cleaning the new car. And as usual, one thing led to another... clean car - only recovered $0.02 in lost coins and two safety pins. Seats will need a good wash and I am still debating how to best do that while they are out of the car. Do you really need to replace the seat rail mounting bolts on re-install like the Bentley manual tells me? These bolts look perfectly fine to me
