Pulled the bonnet open on Skooby the clubster & did my once a week underhood check. All is well & at 82,000 miles the little Peugeot-Citroen-BMW-MINI engine still uses no oil. Great lil car.

Had an old BSA that color once. Think they called it "Root Beer".

Added more oil than the usual top off last night (I usually add about 1/4 qt +/-)..... Most I've added yet at about slightly over 3/4 quart, it's been about a month since I last checked it and am usually an every other fill up checker. Obviously gotta get back on it. So today I'm sitting here hoping it's nothing serious and is simply due to givin er' a bit more lately, GA drivers know how to piss a guy off.

I might have done that, but the paper will have disintegrated long before those poly bushings ever will. :ihih:

Just found a reminder email that my paid membership to M/A was about to expire. That was sent in September.
So I renewed my paid subscription today. I hope Nathan finds the payment. It's coming through on a different email address.

Replaced the battery today. Almost four years to the day. I swear they must put a chip in batteries to make them fail right on schedule.

I wet sanded my headlights last weekend, and went to polish them, and the velcro backer plate for my buffer failed. It took me until today to get a new one. I should have just ordered online. It was a biatche to find one locally.

Not on the family MINI, but on the German bread-van. For the last week or so the battery seemed to crank a bit slow. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination or the battery. Well yesterday morning my suspicions were confirmed. Bought a new AGM battery & man does the starter turn faster now. CD the oem battery was almost exactly 4 years old. I think this one will last longer. :fingerscrossed:

I'm betting the 7-8 year old batteries are in a place with moderate temps. The summer heat of Texas used to eat batteries.
