:cornut: Today had to drive 4 full grown adults to Dallas for family stuff. My lovely wife-"Jason can you drive us in my car?"(1999 Lincoln Continental Town Car that I haven't driven in many years). " Why sure Margi." WOW! It was like navigating a barge on a sponge down rapids. Engine/transmission/brakes under responsive. Slow to a crawl to get around turns. Takes 3 states to turn around. Boy, Mini Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) has really spoiled me. That Lincoln is dangerous without a captain's maritime certification. Actually, I'm the danger. Jason
Finally... Got around to installing my new to me JCW exhaust on my R53. After 49,500 mi my original system gave up the ghost and had a split on the drivers side muffler. JCW system came off GP #0280 with very low miles. I installed all new rubber hangers and a new gasket. Happiness again. What a difference in performance. I've had a JCW intake on when I took delivery and couldn't be more smitten.
Friday- bought a new beltline. I'm having my buddy wrap it in black Met up with some MINIacs for a fun Saturday night. Yesterday I washed Ryu. Found a very small amount of oil on the floor in the garage :mad2: Hoping it's nothing. I'll keep my eye on it for any more.
Keep your eye open for the usuals. I had the same thing last year and turned out to be the original LCA bushing releasing it's small amount of hydraulic fluid under the passenger side. Both bushing(s) seem to be ok, but will need replacing soon.
Had mine detailed yesterday. Seriously detailed. 7hrs start to finish. Beautiful. It's raining today...:mad2: Oh well. The rain is rolling right off anf the car still looks shiny. Plus the detail guy said he'd happily wash it for free for me after it stops raining.
He sat with plastic cleaner (Prima product I think...) and q-tips and went through EVERY honey-comb grille piece on the car. Front and back. Claybar on the whole thing. Wax. Interior clean again with q-tips and some little crevace tool for the hard to get spots. It was VERY impressive. :cornut:
Changed the cabin air filter. Wasn't to very dirty, but I put one in anyway. Did not clean or detail, rains a comin...
Apparently a squirrel got into the garage last night. It knocked over a completely full 1 gallon can of paint. Luckily it didn't completely explode when it hit the ground (or hit the MINI), but it did get a bit of splatter on the MINI and pooled completely around the front tire of the wife's car. One more plus for painted arches... paint spatter cleans up much more easily! Nothing like getting out to the garage in the office dress clothes and having to go back in and change into painting clothes so you can spend 2+ hours cleaning off the cars and scooping up 1 gallon of paint before heading in to the office. I did luck-out that it was latex paint and that it didn't happen too much earlier as it hadn't hardened over yet and all of the spatter came off with a bit of soaking and scrubbing.
Well... technically, he/she knocked over a 1 quart can (half filled) which fell down 3-4 feet to a rubbermade tote top where the 1 gallon can was sitting. It took the full gallon can plus a bunch of tools over on to the floor.
I can identify the perp in a line up... he will be the one with all four feet that match the color "Cafe au Lait" that is on the walls of my bedroom.
