Ran errands today in the cold air. It is amazing how much better my MINI runs in weather like this, compared to the 100-plus days of summer. I don't have any times to compare, just the seat-of-the-pants g-force meter. It is basic science. Cold air is denser than hot air. Compressed cold air is even more potent than cold air sucked into an engine with no assistance. The pull in second and third gears is my favorite feeling on cold days. First winds out so fast, but second and third make that thrust last a while. I did get to run fast with a BMW 850i for a while, but the driver soon took it as a challenge. Some people like to play, while others see everything as a competition. The 850i driver started doing stupid things, and I backed off. CD
new snows on the S! woohoo...the ride down to the installer was freaky...abs on an off all the way down:frown2:. the new snows are just heavenly.
Mine was on backorder since late September. Not Jeff Howerton’s falt but the company that makes them in Europe. (Aquamist )
Not mine, but use it as often as I can! Over 100' long and the fast guys do a lap in under 8 seconds.
It was a cool 41 degrees yesterday but I got the Helmet out and drove it to the BMW/MINI dealer and traded it for an M3
Ha ok just kidding I am not that stupid. I bought a couple oil filters then went by the parts store and got some oil. The manager came out to look at it. He said he didn't know a mini could look cool.....Funny guy. He has a mustang what does he know. It was all in good fun I give them a hard time so I expect it back. Went home and changed the oil in my daughters Jeep now I need to do the Runt and my wife car is not far behind.
Why all the oil changes Lee? I read on the interwebs that now one can go 10,000 - 20,000 miles between changes.
Oh come on Dave you can stretch it to 20,000 miles. Thanks for saving oil so I can continue my 5,000 mile changes.
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: 5000 miles ? I still change my oil every 3000 because I run 100 % Meth and it keeps the motor very clean but all the junk goes in the oil. I see it this way, for my car, frequent oil changes are cheap insurance for custom motor parts. Also some oil may last 10,000 miles but the filters is still made of paper.
Because its 20 degrees, thats why!:lol::lol: whats going to be really fun is draining the straight 50w out of my motorcycle. That should be like molasses
The oil has certainly progressed over the years but the filters are pretty much the same from when we were in short pants.
Yes, but engines aren't. The crap that contaminates oil when we were in short pants isn't part of today engines.
