I've liked the new Clubman loaners the best out of all the new MINI's. They just feel nice. Anyways, the cornering lamps. The last time I was at the dealership a salesman told me that the black Xenon housings that my car is equipped with are cornering lamps. I told him that they are not cornering lamps. He proceeded to tell me that they are in fact cornering lamps because only the black housed Xenons were cornering lamps in the 2nd gen. With that logic how could one argue. They're still not cornering lamps. To not answer your kweshun, I have no idea.....:cornut:

She's a pretty bright kid. Most of her tuition was paid through scholarships and grants. She has a part time job with a standing offer for a fulltime job when she graduates.

We had the MINI sales person looking for a car for her in or near her budget the last 3 months. This one is a lease return. Previous owner downgraded to an F56.

Your kids have to come with their own MINIs. Otherwise, I'm not taking them.

Let's be honest... most salesmen... don't know a damn thing about the cars they sell.

Started up my wife's '06 MCSa after letting it sit for the past 4-5 days [she won't drive it if it's snowing and I drive MY S, so her's sits]. As with Crashton's wife's car, My wife's started up...slowly, from the cold, but warmed up nicely and SHE took it out for a spin.

Warmed up around here the past couple of days after being in the mid teens. So I went and wash both MINIs them gave them some Prima SPA treatment as a bonus.

Still in the 40s, but not going to last long. Sorry you folks out east are getting the nasty winter blast.

Was looking at the April/May schedule on my calendar, I think I am planning a CO,MO,NC trip for the end of April early May, I hope the weather stays dry on the Dragon this year.

    :)

This came in the mail. Stage 1 Tune and colder range plugs. It's gonna have to be added to the stack of parts waiting for warmer weather. Plug wrench won't be here until next week anyway.

After about 36 hours of air travel, got to the car parked at a Comfort Inn for 12 days where it didn't get above freezing for the last week.
Got out of the cab (too cold and windy to wait for the free hotel shuttle) in 12F degree windy weather and got in quickly to start warming
it up and nothing but one or two clicks (battery not too old and voltage checked out ok a couple months ago).
Finished putting luggage into the MINI and before going into the motel to see about getting it jumped,
tried again and it started right up and drove home without any problems (2 hour drive from IAD).
Haven't checked it again today (2 degrees F) but I'm pretty sure it will be fine when I go for groceries later today.

    Edit/addendum:
    Starts fine today.

After turning the blue car into a moving ice block at the car wash a few days ago, I took the opportunity of balmy 25F to wash the red car today. It was salty from a snowboard trip my son took over the break a week ago, and since it'll be sitting in the garage for a few months now, I had to get that rinsed off. Bucket of hot water with proper soap and wash mitt in the trunk, some micro fiber towels and lots of quarter. Nobody at the wash, so I could take my time.

Interesting part - after I was done, the clutch was slipping twice! Does water somehow get in there? The car has barely 35k on the clock and other than the occasional "squeak" on first clutch engage after being parked a long time, there's never been any clutch issue with that car.

You sure it was the clutch? Maybe ice on the tires?

No I don't think water would cause that. Dave has a good point.

Yup, Jeff Howerton told me Aquamist is now selling directly to the USA now.

He still sells his custom tanks and parts.
