Not mini but. I am at discount tire getting new tires and rims for my youngest daughters Jeep. They just opened so I thought I would come here befor I go to my usual tire store.
The guy that helped me was friendly and the prices were good. I was at the counter watching them put tires on a Miata. They were using a torque wrench! I said to the guy “you use a torque wrench?”. He said yes on all cars. I have never seen any tire store do that. I told one tire place to use one on my Mini and they had to go find one. I am very impressed

Changed oil and all that. Trying to reset the service miles. Held the odometer button then key position one. Followed directions to do it, but can't get to where I am able to reset it. Am I doing it wrong? When I had originally did it, it reset to 15,000 miles. Right now it's at 12,700. Is it not low enough to allow me to reset it or something?

Lee I've been using Discount Tire for many years. They are great folks who do a very good job. They will gladly match anyone's prices.

Oh & they use torque wrenches. :)

Well you among others here have talked about them that is why I tried them out. Thanks for the tip. They also put a wire brush on the drill and cleaned the hubs! Thanks for the tip!

Hooked up a cheap a$$ boost guage. Used a windshield mount that I can use temporarily, until I decide a more permanent mount. Dims with the dash lights and reads about the same as my Torque Pro app too.[IMG][IMG]

Well, I finally got around to downloading pictures off my camera from my trip up highway 4 on Vancouver Island. This has become my favorite motoring road for me, though it costs money and time to get there (ferry). Lots of twists and turns, elevation changes, and fantastic scenery. The air and water is so clean, you can see the rocks clear to the bottom of river beds. You guys(and gals) were invited. To bad you missed out.

I got the helmet out of hibernation so I could drive it to work tonight. Should get done around midnight. Good time to blow it out!

Mine is warming up as I speak. Gotta melt all the frost off and head for the VA for an early appointment.Should be around a 130 mile round rip. It'll be the longest I've taken since installing the ByteTronik tune.

I replaced my rear windshield wiper assembly (yes I know most of you guys delete it, but I actually find it kind of useful sometimes) and in the process discovered that someone left this nice surprise on my driver door last night.

The clear coat is missing in a big patch right next to that scratch.

    Ugh.

Bastards is right, for lack of a better description. It REALLY pains me to see my wife's nicely kept MCSa with its passenger door all dented and scratched by some bozo who had parked beside her with a 4-door vehicle and slammed the doors into her car, leaving without a word. :Devilish: Now, since I will show it again in August where it won First Place in its class [it has to be shown in the Winners Circle of last year's winners], I'll have to find a dent repair service and get the door repainted. I could kill that MFSOB.

My car sat in driving rain all day, in a mud parking lot. I am photographing a dead guy's "collection" of 68 cars this week. It has everything from a 1980 Pacer with 3,000 miles, to a 2010 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead with 1,400 miles, and a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC with 130 miles, that still has the factory protective plastic on the seats -- a 20 year old new car.

Ah, and there is also a 2012 MINI CooperS Roadster in Spice Orange with low mileage -- I didn't look at the odometer, yet. Pretty car, but it is an automatic.

Looks more like someone on a bike maybe hit it with a handle bar more so than a door ding.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to puzzle it out. It looks like a knife or something was inserted vertically and dragged down to make the scratch, which made the clear coat come loose and then it was flaked. It’s very weird and in an odd place.
I made a call to my insurance company yesterday, and am taking the car to a body shop to get an estimate today. I’ve got a good policy too, so I shouldn’t have any out of pocket for a patch.
