I got my tires rotated for free... Thanks Discount Tire! I didn't even buy the tires from them. However, they "adjusted" my tire pressures. My MINI doesn't like that. My hyper-sensitive TPMS light is on. Now I have to get the owner's manual out and reset the stupid thing. There is nothing I can do to the air pressure in my tires to shut the TPMS light off. I could inflate them to 80 PSI, and that light won't go off. I have to reset the f-ing thing. I am in favor of the federally mandated TPMS, because most drivers are too busy on the phone, texting or updating Facebook to spend any time properly maintaining the car that could kill them if they don't properly maintain it. It is just a PITA when I have to tell MY car that there is nothing wrong with it -- after reading the owner's manual to find out how to tell it there is nothing wrong with it. CD
I hate TPMS and I absolutely do not want more crap in my car federally mandated. Just teach new driver how to maintain a car is shop class or drivers ed.
If you try it, let me know how it works. My 19 year old truck has horrible hard water film on the passenger side windows from a former neighbor who watered it along with her yard for several years.
That stuff is awesome, and is the #1 product to use for class. I have used it many times with great results but it can be a pain to work with the first time but just follow the instructions and you will be fine. Note it will remove hard water spots and wiper marks but not deep scratches.
Getting closer to test fitting! If I didn't have to go drink margaritas tonight I'd be able to make some progress...... Choices... These bad boys showed up today (if you need some nice hose clamps or intake type tubing, give intakehoses.com a shot. Everything is made in the U.S.A.) Also, Dave! Your tires made this months cover
@Qik You have to go drink margaritas tonight? Poor thing! If I were closer I would do it for you. I do like to help.
Well I did nothing with the MINIs today. I planned on ordering the harness bar for the Helmet, but the Indian needed one more part. I road it this weekend to a open house at the Indian dealer. The generator is putting out some where between 12 and 15 volts. Thats a wee to much for a 6v system. The voltage regulator is a rear part so they want a lot for it. Oh well just another day!
Good luck with that plan. I have lost count of the number of house-moms and dummass dads I've chewed out in parking lots for driving their children around in a minivan with steel belts showing through their miss-aligned and under-inflated tires. Most of them are embarrassed , but some of them have the nerve to tell me to mind my own business. Nanny state car laws aren't written for you and me, they are written for the "masses" who fill their garages with Walmart crap to the point that they have to park their 30-thousand dollar cars on the street. And, they are fine with that. After all, it is just a car, right? Nothing important. CD
I picked up some garden stuff at Lowe's. That included two 2X4X8 cedar boards. A guy got out of a Ford crew-cab pickup, and actually stopped to watch what I was going to do with those eight-foot pieces of lumber. Well, I folded the back seats down, and gently put them between the two front seats, from left to right. Then closed the hatch. I looked at him, and he said "WOW" He basically did not see that coming. He even asked me to clarify that those were eight-foot-long boards. Part of being a MINI owner is educating the public. BTW, those same boards won't fit in the bed of an F150 Crew Cab with the tailgate up. CD
I would also tell you to mind your own business with a few F U included. Stay out of other lives, what gives you the right to think you can criticize others? Worry about yourself and move along.
Drove it (to work) for the first time in a week. No, I haven't sidelined the MINI in favor of the truck. That pig is way to hungry for a move like that with my 60+mi commute each day. It was mostly due to taking some time off and staying home to get Jäger acclimated to "our" new routine. It involves short bursts of puppy play and back-talk... Followed by lots of Dave.0's favorite pastime... But he's adorable and has some time before his serious training starts... Oh, and he was as unamused with the spring nor'easter as I was...
It’s replaces the whole sunroof assembly around 7lbs. I have sold a few already and just plan on making one or 2 a month. No orders please lol
Agreed. He is a handful already... and he's still a baby, sleeping most of the day. But it's certainly filling the emptiness in the house.
