Dam glad you didn’t go over the edge! I should have tried the Dramamine, but I really didn’t think I could make myself sick in a car. I saw your car at the Dragon it looks really good

I've gotten a slight hint of that motion sickness once, since then I've just held my gut muscles tight thru the turns (like one does on a roller coaster) and I'm good. Wouldn't hurt to keep a bottle of Dramamine in the glove box though. Thanks! It was a struggle keeping her clean up there.

If it is the other guy's fault, I hope you got out of the car holding your neck. Im not suggesting "fraud to get rich," but having some bargaining power with the other guy's insurance company is good to have. You deserve to have your car replaced by one like it. The other guy's insurance company wants to give you what the lowest value R53 is worth.

The other guy's insurance company just wants to settle the claim for as little as possible. They don't care about all the upgrades you did to your car. They do care if you go to your doctor with neck and/or back pain.

If all you want to do is replace what you lost, I don't see anything wrong with using any leverage you can get to achieve that.

Drove Dark Silver for the first time since November. I forgot how great that DDMWorks intake sounds.

Had a noisy trip down to the Dragon in the R50. The cat back baffles blew just after leaving the KY Rest area [near Cincinnati] and it was noisy as all hell the rest of the way down. Got it repaired in Robbinsville and made the trip back home last night around 5 PM

Did a quickie detail on the MINI today. I'm going to an all British car show in the morning. I entered just to hang out with some friends. I don't expect to win anything. Hagerty is a sponsor, and we go way back. I don't know if I will know any of the Hagerty people there -- it's been a while. But, I am going to wear one of my Hagerty Dawn Patrol hats. I'm betting I'll be the only person there who has one, let alone three.

I am going to be a little dorky, and bring my matching race suit and helmet. I bought the suit when I had a red track car, so when I bought the MINI, it was pure coincidence that the suit matched the car. And, a white helmet was the cheapest helmet that met track standards. A white helmet also makes sense in a convertible in Texas.

Yeah. I've been about a dozen times. I've only made Dawn Patrol three times, the last time in 2008. People show up before 5AM now to get that hat. I'm not getting up that early for a hat, especially after a late night at RM Auctions on Saturday. They are one of my customers. I always go to RM on Saturday night to see "my" cars go across the block, hoping they draw big money.

It's a weird thing, if a car sells for a record, the seller want's me to shoot all his cars. If the car flops,
the seller forgets who took the pictures.

Cool, I finally made it into RM for the first time last year. My Sat schedule is usually drive to the Italiano, walk around Ocean Drive after, then hit Exotics on Cannery Row, dinner, hang out in front of RM to check out the car staging, then Cibo or the Mucky Duck, then drive back.

Not crazy enough to pay $200-250 a night for a 1 Star or Motel 6 so it becomes a long 20 hour day :Dead:

My regular dinner spot before Saturday night at RM is the Crown and Anchor pub near Portola Plaza. And, yes, I pay $250-plus per night to stay in a "modest" hotel room in or close to Monterey. I generally share a room with a really close friend, and we are only there to sleep.

We get into all of the events for free, so the hotel is the biggest expense. I generally fly to LA, and we either drive his 1972 Porsche up to Monterey for the weekend, or we drive a press car, usually something from the Dodge SRT family. We have to pay for the gas... second biggest expense.

A couple of times, we have driven back to LA down the PCH. Once in my friend's 72 Porsche, and once in a Jeep Grand
Cherokee SRT8 - 6.1 litre hemi. The Porsche was a blast to dive on the PCH. The Jeep SRT8 was fun, but there were some butt-puckering moments.

Yep, the Crown and Anchor is our usual spot downtown if we don’t grab something on Cannery Row before heading over. It’s just a little scary thinking about having to get out of there quickly in an emergency. :Nailbiting:

I ran the NCS Expert software on my Dark Silver Mini today, coding out all sorts of annoying bulb checks and auto-lock timers, changed how the remote works (unlock all on one button - how hard can that be, Mini?), no auto locking doors any longer. LEDs inside the boot are now flicker free, LEDs above rear license plate is flicker free, etc time to check out LEDs in the high/low beams on that car before I go all medieval on these non Xenon housings to put some proper HID projects in there.

What are using for the ncs expert? Like windows xp? I can't seem to get it to work. I am able to use the INPA software though. I have an R53. What do you have?

I do R53 coding (see signature) with windows 10. Once the cable works, the software runs fine on new 64 bit windows. I found an "all in one" BMW focused installer of newer vintage, then I had to add the R50 Daten to all the relevant folders to make it work.

My only slight issue is actually INPA now, but not because it doesn't run, but because some of my "dates" files are not the right version for that one. Not a huge deal, as i only complains about a few modules. plus all I want to code at tis time can be done with NCS Expert.

Fog lights on with high beam on, yeah! One button push opens all doors, no LED flicker anywhere. I put the LEDs into the low beams and in the garage it looked like a perfect swap, no gear pattern whatsoever.. These new LEDs that mimic a halogen filament are amazing. Waiting for it to get dark to go test on the road.

I like one click to open the driver's door and two to open the others, it offers a little more security.

My bad man. Didn't see the signature part. What I want to do is turn these damn daytime running lights off. I tried that BMW Standard tools thing. I think I was missing the date thing too though. I have INPA working though. I had reset my adaptations and cleared the memory when I had the P2096 code a while back. Been doing pretty good since then too. I'll keep messing with it till I get ncs expert figured out. Thanks man!

I took my MINI to an All British and European Car Day today. It used to be an all British car day, but they expanded it. It was still 80-percent British. Not many MINIs though -- total of 8 during the day. Lot's of MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars.

I met the owner of a rare Land Rover, and told him I was certain that I photographed his US model Defender 110 and wrote and article about it. He had no idea what I was talking about. But, when I got home, I checked the numbers, and it was his LR -- #47/500 made for the US. I sent him a PDF of the Magazine article. He was thrilled.

Thats an R53 next to my MINI, then four classic Minis, and there was another classic in the wrong part of the park, and an F56 MCS that showed up briefly.
