Not today, but yesterday I ordered a set of RMW coil overs from Jan. Not these exact ones, but similar.
I just went out to the garage to get the Helmet out for the day. The new battery is dead! I guess thats what you get when you only drive it once in two weeks!!
Put in a craven e-brake handle and a BSH oil catch can yesterday (bsh dual boost port/pvc plug to follow when it arrives in a couple days). Also drove from York to Vienna Virginia to see Live from Here at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap. Stayed over and returning this am. .
Two trips to Home Depot and my new emergency brake handle is fitted. Of course, since I had to take the boot off, I decided to have a new one made in the same red material as the rest of the interior. Oh Laurd, when will it stop...
The mods will continue until the music stops and they run out of chairs. You can always find something else to do to/with these cars.
Damn. First ticket in over a dozen years driving home about as fast as everyone around me. That JCW engine is fast and smooth, and before you know it ... Speedo reading by an unmarked car. If I behave, I'll be back down to 0 points in 12 months and be a points virgin again in 24 months. BTW the BSH dual boost tap/pvc plug came and it’s on now.
Took my MINI down to the shop this morning and I replaced the timing chain tensioner... Took 3 hours to finish... Engine runs smoother... Other than a tough nut to get to, fairly easy to change out..... Unscrew the old tensioner and screw in the new tensioner.... Torque to spec.... Done... No extra leftover parts..... Last week I replaced the MINI OEM battery.... With another MINI OEM battery..... Got 9 years out of it... Not too shabby IMO....
Got the new struts on -1. F'n tirerack sent me the wrong part for the left front, so I get to completely disassemble and re-assemble that one again.
Did a full detail inside and out side on the wife’s Lexus RX 350 today. It was not very hot outside but damn was it humid. Now her car looks and smells new again. Who she get it so dirty only driving it once a week is a mystery. After I was done with her car I figured why not wash my car while everything was already out and put it back in the garage.
Our local MINI club (Queen City Coopers) drove in a small Memorial Day parade. Throwing candy and the whole nine yards. We all went out to lunch after the parade. Loads of fun...
Just ordered a jug of 5w40 Motul X-cess (taking a break from Amsoil) for her upcoming oil change at 105k. TireRack next day aired me the correct strut for the left front, should be here when I get home and I'll throw it in right away. Git eR done.
