Use a reverse drill bit, most of the time they'll just screw right out.

@Goldsmithy I do have a Dremel, thanks I had not thought of trying it.
@Minidave I did take one of my dull drill pits and ground it flat to see if it would bite but it didn't. I will try your idea that would bite into the metal better.

I am about to have my coffee, then I guess I will run down a revers drill bit and try to get this thing back together.

I recently had success within method but I
used a dremel cut off wheel to make the slot.

Successes! The left handed drill did not move it but I did drill down the middle so I used a easy out and got it out. I left the guide in so most of the small shavings from the drilling fell on the guide. I would stop every few seconds and vacuum, I didn't have enough hands to do both at the same time. Also I put grease on the drill bit so I feel sure I got most the shavings. I am going to change the oil before I crank it but I really didn't drill that deep.

So maybe I will have a running car today!

Lee you might want to try a left handed drill bit. It may walk the bolt out as it starts to bite into the bolt.

Should have posted this yesterday. Congrats Lee!

Thanks @Crashton. Because I am so ocd about my oil. I took the chain and guide back out just now, cleaned off the guide then put a magnet down in to the oil pan to get what fell all the way down.

Brought the car to my local MINI dealer for an oil change this morning. I use the dealer because they give me a discount price. Dealer just called and said the oil change is done and that my car is still in really good shape, especially with that much mileage on it. Said the serpentine belt might be starting to wear, but it still looks okay for now and asked if I wanted it changed anyways and I said it can wait until next time.

Other than that, we're good! Pretty happy that I've kept a good rapport with the dealer service center. Don't feel ripped off.

I get my oil changed at my local MINI dealer, too. Their price is reasonable, they do it right, inspect my car, wash it and vacuum it. I get a free loaner while they do the work.

I won't let one of those quick-lube places touch my cars. I also don't do my own oil changes, anymore, because... I don't want to. ;)

Dealer accepted our offer. In Canada, if I optioned the car this way, it worked out to a bit over 48,000 CDN before taxes.
This was a BMW executive driven demo with 6000kms on it. Was told the previous owner traded it in for a Countryman Cooper S E

I also got them to add a set of bonnet stripes. That should make it go faster. BTW...I also noted the Lapis Luxury Blue color is a $1000 CDN option that is no longer available on the 2019 model.

Drove my Racing Green classic to a KC Mini Club meet up at the local Sonic, and in between T-storms, I (well my car) won a $75 gift Sonic card. Since I will NEVER be able to eat $75 worth of Sonic food I donated the card to the club. :)

I thought I was going get a performance award as I got to the top of the hill on my way into the office this morning. I was running about 14 lbs boost on my supercharger. Saw this guy come running out of the trees onto the road as I got there but he ignored me and pulled over the Jeep Cherokee SRT trying to keep up with me. I noticed the uniform and 2 motor cycles hidden behind the trees. The Jeep must have been going faster just as we rounded the bend near the top as I was slowing down for the traffic light anyways.

Whew....lesson learned. Time to find another engine test road.

Gotta love it when you think you're for sure getting pulled over, but don't :) Even better when someone else get's in trouble.

Went to Detroit on Thurs. and the crew at Detroit Tuned installed an RMW header, did a compression check to use as a benchmark and flushed and replaced the coolant. I must have had a little air in the system because the temp was steadier on the way home. Sat. found me driving up and down Woodard Ave. during Detroit's 'Dream Cruize'. It is a 12-mile stretch of avenue that is filled with every type, kind, size, custom, and modified car in the world it seems like. There are said to be 40,000 cars there, and I believe it. We were the only MINI I saw though :) I forgot my wife's tablet and Kindle at home, so we never made it to Lake Erie.:( Best birthday I have had in years !!!!! )
