In the unlikely event that the heat would damage the V1, it would still be less expensive in the long run than a speeding ticket. I bought my last one about 20 years ago. The State Trooper’s radar detector detectors work too well for my taste.
My last ticket (first in over a dozen years) was this past Memorial Day weekend by an unmarked car clocking me by speedo, no radar. I was going about as fast as nearly everyone around me. I actually had my detector on, which did not escape the officer’s attention, even though I moved it down out of sight as soon as I saw the flashing lights. Still, there have been plenty of times that the detector has been very very useful.
My last ticket was from an airplane tracking my speed they called it down to a state trooper who had a few cars lined up for tickets.
Heat will not hurt the V1. I had mine in a rental in southern Florida for 10 days and never took it down. The car sat in the sun all day in 95+ temps and was hot ass hell but always worked fine. You do need to hard wire yours.
How long ago was that? Most states have lost the budget for air support because of fuel cost, insurance, OT and airplane fees.
So I got in a short race with a CTS-V the other day. The Helmet stayed with him till 3 gear then he started to pull away thats when we both stoped. I knew I was out gunned but it was fun and I was surprised I stayed with him so long. After that the car would not idle smooth, and had a check engine light. I checked the codes. Man All sorts of ECU codes. I lost count of all the codes. I looked under the hood and all it was, was the hose from the front PVC to the intake had come loos. Moral of the story....look under the hood first. Maintenance 101! Oh and don't go home and tell your wife you raced a Cadillac CTS-V. All I have heard the past few days is "oh look I can barley keep up with an old mans car." I even have showed her what a CTS-V is. Its no use
Hope you had your V1 up & running for your fast & furious impersonation. Reliving your misspent youth?
I've actually been pretty good since our last convo about behind the wheel behavior. There's been a couple times I've had to open her up to get around some idiots in the 2 left lanes (Atlanta has 5 lanes not counting HOV). For the most part, I think I've grown.... Or have I........ Time will tell
I like to drive fast too. Ask anyone who knows me. I will not race on the street, cops show no mercy & I think that's OK. If you are driving fast & get pulled over you may get off with a warning. Playing Ricky race may see the book thrown at you.
Put in a new battery during my lunch hour in the parking lot at my work. Old one was starting to get tired and winter is coming eventually. Odyssey 48-720.
