15k on the '03 R50 since the cvt replacement 2 years ago. Now, it's at 75 and is going strong...it even told me yesterday it wants another trip back to MOTD. I think my R53 is getting jealous at being shut out of going Dragonslaying, as it hasn't been there for the last 2 years...
That was the plan, but now those noisy, dirty OEM brakes are an issue [even though they are still pretty new] and the R50 thinks IT is the "chosen one", since it's been down to MOTD the last 2 years. I have new tires on the R53. They act like summer tires but are all seasons. If I didn't know better, I'd swear they are runrocks, and that is also an issue, since I-75 is such a bumpy drive both ways.
Got these strap on heated seat cushions since I need but don’t have factory heated seats and am too lazy to retrofit them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07H4RWPQG/ref=sxts_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539700093&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65 They fit well except for being a little wide for the seats at the shoulders, and work fine.
Picking up my wheels from the powder router today. As soon as I get the R53 back together I will be up for sale. A sad day it will be. I hope I find it a good home.
Unlike Dave O's car, mine isn't made of sugar so I can drive it when it rains! Drove to North KC to pick up my bike yesterday - in the rain. Today I'm working on a 73 Mini, putting in a new starter and a few other tasks.
Well I am buying a new motorcycle............Something has to go, I just wish it wasn't the R53 but I had a good run with it. I will miss it. Maybe one day I can get a Gen1 GP.
Hahahahaha nice one. I drive in the rain, how do you think I get my car home from the Dragon every year. It swear it rains every year on my 12+ hour ride home from Fontana to Philly.
Aww, It probably melts a little on the way home, but I'm sure that you have a bucket of red frosting in the garage to fix her up again, when you get home.
Yep! Its a Roadmaster. Its a new bike but a 2017 model they have marked it down 5 grand. It has the touch screen, heated seats and grips, cruse control. I really don't need it but can't pass it up. The 53 is down right now, one of the tanks has a leak. This will be the 4th time I have fixed it. I am a little bummed. I love my old bike I'll post some pictures when I bring it home
Do you have Discount Tire stores up there? I haven't paid for a puncture repair in decades. My current tires came from Tire Rack, and Discount Tire still fixed a puncture for free -- patched from inside, too.
It's been raining for weeks, so my MINI is very dirty. We've had 9 inches of rain so far in October. That is three times what we average for the entire month. My yard is a swamp (some guy promised to drain it, but it keeps getting deeper).
