No my car is ceramic coated with Gyeon Syncro the water runs right off and what ever water is left I use a leave blower to remove. Towels even MF ones cause fine scratches on the paint finish.
We got that much rain in four or five hours when Michael blew through. Also did this to my storage building. That’s a 12’ door.
Haven’t been able to get in to check damages. The door company was here yesterday an have to special order the new door. No ETA at this time. They offered to remove the old door so I could get in, but since there’s no way to secure the opening I told them to leave it. At least it’ll add a degree of difficulty to anyone with bad intentions. It doesn’t look like anything reached the Vette, but can’t really tell. The Harley is on the right covered with a padded moving blanket cover over it. The top of the door ended up right next to it. I can tell that most if not all of the boxes are soaked and the shelves in the back had my custom painted tank and other bike parts on it. Can’t see them now. I have a feeling they’re on the floor behind the Vette. Oh well, sheet happens. The Mini and Suburban were sitting behind the house and didn’t have any damage that I can see. I almost put the Mini in the storage building ahead of the storm. If I had, it would be under the door.
You should have drove it here where it's sunny and comfortably warm and the roads are twisty and empty.
Hey VV, your weather situation was certainly worse than mine, but at least neither one of us lives (lived?) in Mexico Beach, Florida. CD
Unless you were this guy and built a hurricane proof house. https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/video/mexico-beach-home-still-standing-heres-why
Having grown up on the Gulf Coast, and having multiple friends who lost homes when Hurricane Ike wiped Bolivar Peninsula nearly off the map, a lot of the building techniques that this "Hurricane Proof" house uses are now code on Bolivar Peninsula. BTW, Hurricane "resistant" is a more accurate term. My best friend's house survived Ike structurally, and is still standing today photo below). The piers are wood, and when Ike destroyed Bolivar Peninsula, there were a whole lot of wooden piers still standing, as if nothing happened. But, the storm surge lifted the houses off the piers, and they washed away and disintegrated. My best friend and his FIL built his house, and used a lot of techniques that are now code. Homes built on Bolivar Peninsula today are tied to their piers with steel straps and long threaded steel rods that go all the way to the rooftops. I would expect the same code changes to happen after Michael, although we are talking about Florida. Sorry for going way off topic, but I thought folks would might be interested to know how building on the coasts is finally changing. CD
Thinks! I think you are right! With the exception of satellite radio it has all the options the Helmet has!
Got a little exhausted yesterday..........got the new RMW header and Milteck installed. I like, I really, really like it. Initial 25 mile impression is that it seems to feel a lot "free-er". Better response to the fun pedal. Sound wise, a bit raspy for my tastes at part throttle, but sounds great at WOT. Got a slight buzz coming from the rear at idle, got track that down. But no drone!
OMG...I can just imagine Lee in his leathers with the MINI logos, knee on the center line, and cruising back and forth on the Dragon all day during MOTD!
