Rennline stuff is not cheap, nice but not cheap. I had to mod the dead pedal to make it look right on my extension, made me a little sick carving it up but hey, it had to be done. Do you have an idea of what extension you would use? I only used the top on mine so I have the bottom collecting dust. Might be able to modify it if you want to use it up top.
Looks like convertible top repair is in my future. I heard a pop and the driver’s side latch decided not to unlock. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Speaking of being high on pot, the rules are, it is now legal to buy and be in possession pot in Canada, but you're not allowed to smoke it anywhere. Especially if you live in a condo. Also, with Vancouver being the pot capital of the world, the only legal store you can buy pot in the province of British Columbia is a 5 hour drive from Vancouver. You can always tell a mail truck in Vancouver because you can smell the pot. If you tried to invade Canada, we would probably, in a drunken stupor, burn down the whitehouse again. (noted that your president thinks our puny country of 1/10th the US population is a security risk) However, Cascadia is still an option.
My MINI got the day off, today. It had a hard couple of days. I drove it to Taylor, Texas on Tuesday to photograph a car. I should have driven a rental. I've made that drive many times, but over the last couple of years, the highways have gone to $4lT. Beat the crap out of my car. I finally stopped for the night, got a hotel room, then drove the rest of the way home in heavy rain on Wednesday. On the plus side, I brought back $103 worth of Louis Mueller's BBQ Brisket in a cooler. The car I shot was pretty awesome, too. 1966 Jag E-Type. 100 point car. I shot it at a restoration shop. I've known the shop owner for at least 10 years. Best jag guy in the US. He has an XJ220 in progress -- a one-year-plus rotisserie restoration. I can't imagine what that is costing someone. Here is the car I shot. It was restored a few years ago. It was there for a "refreshing," or basically a tune and detailing. Hey Dave, check out the detailing. CD
E-Types are beautiful cars. They drive great, too. Of course, they look good and drive well if they are properly restored and/or cared for. Silky-smooth engines, four wheel disk brakes (inboard discs, at that). Not Porsche track-type driving cars. They are touring cars of the top level. The kind of car capable of traveling 200 miles in two hours, on the right roads -- comfortably. CD
Wow! No kidding. 230 bucks for something I'm going to mess up with my nasty shoes after walking through a dirt parking lot on a rainy day? Maybe if I won the lottery. CD
DBS Volante. Somewhat nice looking. Slow. Be careful detailing it -- parts may fall off. If it has the paddle shift automatic, don't drive it far, unless you have a towing company on speed dial. Yes, I have driven a DBS... actually, about a dozen of them. Poorly built slugs. It's worth well less than half of what that 52-year-old "fiat to me" is worth. Park it outside and move your MINi back inside. That would be a far better use of a garage. CD
Ditto. That Aston is just ok, I'm not a fan of any convertible car, though when it comes to that brand I LOVE the way the Vanquish looks.
On my way to work this morning, I pulled up behind a car in a traffic line up and realized one of my high beam / daytime running light bulbs is burned out. So...what's a good H7 bulb and inexpensive too, should I get. I know opinions differ from person to person. Also, took kid and her car down to my local tire shop this morning to get winter tires and wheels for the winter. Total cost for winter tires and allow wheels including install, balancing and taxes came in just under $1000 CDN. Then tire guy said he had set of not as nice looking wheels and tires where a deal fell through, that he could sell my daughter for $700 CDN. Turns out the tires are all-weather tires (as opposed to all season tires). Are these good enough for most people ? Daughter feels kind of like "what did I just pay for?" Didn't I just take off all season tires? Anyways, she's all set for the minimal amount of snow we expect here. If we go into the hills in the winter, we'll take the Countryman.
