Well, there ya have it. The new speakers are behind the door and rear panels and if ya think I'll be taking them off again ta take a wee picture of the speakers, ya be daft mon. Jim
Took Babs Clubster out for a romp in Amish country, big fun. Amish folks loves the MINI's.... Got it filthy dirty. Checked out the flat tire nanny. Nanny was correct, RR losing air. Tested my slime air pump 3 times on the way home. Started a to do list: Warsh the clubster... Get a leaky tire fixed...
Installed the "Red Stuff" pads from EBC and went out and bedded them in. OH WOW, nice improvement in stopping power. They are supposed to make less dust, so I'll be interested to see how they do on that front..... One other thing I noticed, the pads were coated with a thin gritty coating (the material was brushed applied) to the brake pad surface that contacts the disc..... Apparently it's a sacrificial coating that cleans any buildup from the previous pad.... First time I noticed this on any of the pads I've replaced. Pretty smart idea on EBC's part. They also included a "anti-squeal" pad on each surface the pistons contact.... so no need for additional anti-squeal paste.... They also had the little "Brembo" type ear weights added to the pads, just like the stock units.
Took it on a nice drive in Amish country today (thanks Chuck and Babs for the great route). Enjoyed the company of good friends! Oh and I brought home some genuine Amish horse manure... It was pretty cool all the Amish folks did seem to stop and wave.
