Just got back from finding my oil leak. It wasn't the oil, it was the power steering hose. All fixed. The problem with buying a car that was stored in a hi heat area is that all the rubber parts are subject to deterioration. But, while I was there, I found a new set of wheels.
All MINI's have had or will have leaking PS hoses, it's just the way they are. I like those wheels, but you need tires with more sidewall.
Thanks a bunch. I was wondering about the size. I found a ton on Tire Rack, Tire Discounters, and Cheap Tires...but I can't decide which one to get. Would you please search and tell me which tire would be best. I'd really appreciate it...
Summer tires daily drive 17”? I recommend the 215/45/R17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, or if on more of a budget, the Continental ExtremeContact Sport in 205/45/R17 (also availability in 215/45/R17 but price is higher, about midway between the two above). If looking for a more extreme summer performance tire, ask Dave.0 and he’ll suggest the Dunlop Direzza ZII SS or the ZIII. If looking for an all season, maybe someone else can suggest something worthy to put on those forged extremely nice Volks.
I watched it get towed away..... One of the two happiest days of an N14 mini owner's life. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
During the R50 MINI’s winter storage. MOTD prep! (R50 is now over 160k miles! Owned since new for almost 14 years.) My meth kit will be delivered next Monday. Next Tuesday, it goes to someone who will install the meth kit, air suspension, a splitter, 380 injectors, and a couple of other small things. I am officially poor...not quite destitute, but close. Anyone want to buy my first born?????
Luckily after 14 years my mods are finished! I just tweak, maintain and re-install or remove mods as needed for the event.
I have to say Dave is right. Those who chose to use cheap carp tend to spend more in the long run. Cheap stuff doesn't last. Buying things twice really does co$t more.
I am never done modding. I have done all the normal $3,000 and less mods and now I am on to the $3,000 and up mods. The 3 Grand and up mods are longer projects that include custom parts that are forged and make more WHP and will not be done for this years MOTD but maybe next years.
My understanding is that the rings were most likely broken. I spent twelve grand to keep the car on the road for three years. I just needed a vehicle, and couldn't throw any more money at this. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
