Man that sucks. I have awd who needs proper tires anyway. Why wouldn't her insurance not cover the accident? She rear ended you. Hope it all works out.
Bummer about the accident. You either have good luck as you’ve only been slightly dinged or bad luck because you’ve been dinged twice recently. Why wouldn’t the A7s insurance pay for the accident ??
Winter tires are mandatory. If they are caught driving with the wrong equipment, the insurance company here can deny insurance. I suspect, they may not fix her car, but will fix the damage on my car.
Here's an interesting update: The guy who bought my car pulled the head and found a valve with a chunk out of it. The dealer told me it needed an engine, cylinder 3 walls were badly scored, probably broken rings, and the valves were fine. It had a 2 year parts and labor warranty on the work done-full top end rebuild. End result: I sold the car for much less than it was worth running, I spent a fortune on the top end work. (mistake having the dealer do it in the first place, but 2 year warranty good in theory) The guy who bought it can have it fixed under warranty. I will be visiting the dealer shortly, I'm giving myself time to wind down a bit so I don't choke someone out.
Wow!!! Yes by all means cool down before heading over. I bet the dealer refuses to do the repair again under warranty since the car has been sold to another.
The guy who bought the car brought it to his local dealer, and they offered to fix it under warranty for him. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
I know how the new GP will get that 300 HP to the ground, it will use electronic traction control and so on, but how will Dave get 400+ HP to the ground in an R53 designed for 170?
RMW axles, custom suspension, OS Giken super locker LSD, light rims and super sticky tires. Also, to make it stop I already has a JCW full BBK with G-Lock pads on the car now. I currently have all the components now and they are bought and paid for. My car is currently already 130+ bhp over OEM 170 bhp rating and I am putting 270 WHP to the ground now. The RMW 1.62 motor that is going in next fall has already been broken in and only has 1,500 miles on it since 1000 mile break in was done and it was dynoed at 464 WHP with a Turbo. (I am not going turbo) The motor is fully Forged, rods, pistons with custom rings for a perfect seal, balanced crank, king tri-metal bearings, all ARP fasteners with RMW oil baffle, Topped off with my current RMW BVH after a refresh valve job, RMW my Grand AM CAM and a TVS 900 with electric water pump.
I would be furious!! If you can I would see if you could get some pictures of the damage then the next call would be a lawyer. I knew they were jerking you around. If they had the head off they should checked the motor out before doing the head job. The shop I worked for if we had done the head and the costumer brought the car back like you did the owner of the shop would have eaten the repairs.
If insurance doesn't cover, she has to pay out of her own pocket/wallet/purse. Or insurance will pay and she has to reimburse ICBC (the monopoly insurance company here)
I am furious-I paid a ton of money for a job that failed. I do have pictures of the head/broken valve and looking at the cylinders as they stand now. The new owner sent them. I'm going to give the dealer a chance to make it right and reimburse me-I don't have high hopes since they lied in the first place. If nothing then to MINI HQ and a lawyer. I'm not wealthy and this whole debacle has really hurt me financially.
Did some painting today, got out two big steaks and I am chilling out waiting on the Daytona 500. Happy Daytona Day
Little paint work today. Base coat today, later in the week wet-sand, base again then clearcoat wet-sand with 2,000 and 3,000 then polish.
Well, the best-laid plans of Mice and Men. I have been working on some plans for the M/A tent at the Dragon. One was a 'pay it forward' table like we did last year only with donated used MINI parts. Barry put the Kabash on that one as being unfair to the vendors as that I can understand. The other idea was to have 'seminars' on a various MINI topic like detailing, mods, coding, etc. Barry thought that was a great idea for Next year, so I hope to be getting that together later. Looks like this year all I'll be doing is driving and hanging out at the tent to meet as many of you as I can and to say hello those of you I do know. Oh well,....
