MINI’s have Front Struts and rear Shocks. It’s that simple and you should replace all four at the same time just not the rears to lessen suspension damage at the end you don’t replace. They are not lifetime parts ya know.
Changed the fuel filter in my April 07 R56 S 75000kms. Filter was pretty putrid...... I would just like to say that getting that fuel tank gasket back in is not a job that I look forward to doing again anytime soon! Like anything I guess, easy when you know how... and with the power of hindsight, first time was always going to be a BiTc# I guess. I took my dog to the Vet today for his every other day shot. Unfortunately, last night we got 4-5" of heavy, wet snow on a half inch base of ice. All I can say is: THANK GOD FOR BLIZZAKS!!! It was slow going both ways on our unplowed and untreated roads, but my S and its wonderful tires made it through just fine! My dog and I are MOST appreciative!
Greased up the RSB bushings last night so she don't bind up and break. Remember, if you're dry they're dry..... Every 6 months or so.... Also, The H-Sport grease zerks are garbage and will be replaced in 6 months.
My S is getting new struts, shocks and strut mounts next week from Chad and Detroit Tuned! WOOHOO! Can't wait to get back to the Dragon to break them in!
Good news Jeff. Glad you overcame the case of analysis paralysis you were having. Your S will feel like a new car.
Finished painting the top part of my rear hatch and cleared it with 5 coats. I unbagged car and took it out for a few errands today. Later in the week or next weekend I will wetsand put the orange peel in the clear can’t and polish it to a smooth high gloss. I also have to do the same sanding and polishing on the GP rear spoiler parts befor I install it. The holes on each end of the hatch will be plugged with the JCW little roof foils like before, just freshly painted.
Hahahaha. Did anyone see the fishface F56 4 door in the outdoor picture? My car gets wet all the time and I derive it in the snow, she is not a garage queen.
