I read this for the first time. Interesting history. I might have to find away to get my car across the continent and make this run someday...... https://tailofthedragon.com/history/
Doughnut run to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Scottsdale Mall in Delta BC (a suburb of Vancouver BC...Canada).
Looks like a great turnout. Too bad it s at Krispy Kreme. You guys need to find a higher quality donut. Oh & heck yes you need to take a long road trip to the Smokies. Some beautiful roads down that way.
Put on my summer donuts (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S). The first drive after doing this always puts a big smile on my face. Also changed wiper blades (PIAA super silicone refills) after cleaning and applying Aquapel to the glass. Ready for Spring!
Going to the local glass shop in the AM for a new windshield in the 2016 CM, really surprised it lasted this long since I brought it home. Colorado is death on windshields. Have a zero deductible, which helps but will go with a 3rd party glass as MINI glass is soft and pits fast. Might wash it on Thursday before the next snow event.
What a co-inki-dink. I was at Sneed4Speed getting some work done today and made a run to the local Krispy Kreme shop and picked up a dozen "Hot n Ready". Those things are great when they're still warm. Strangely enough it snowed while I was in Winston Salem,NC before turning to sleet for a while. And me on my summer tires. Tomorrow it's going to be 70º. Anyway, got my wing installed and used my new Schwaben Scan Tool to register my new battery. Fairly productive day with about five hours on the road.
Well, I will not have the water/meth system installed by the dragon. The garage that is installing it is familiar with the Snow system, but not the Aquamist. He said that the system has so many parameters that to set it up would take a dyno and he is afraid of doing something that may result in damage to my engine. He has tried reaching out for help but can find very little information on installing the system. Howerton Engineering has not replied to him. Its definitely not plug and play. If anyone has any information or resources that they can direct me to I would really appreciate it. If nothing else, I will go to the dream cruise in Detroit in August and let Chad do it. NOW...onto the DRAGON
Got my summer tires on and stored the snows! Also, had the brake fluid changed to high temp. Now, all I need is and oil change, the tranny fluid upped and my Milltek fixed and I'll be ready to pack up for the Dragon.
I was there for a while with @vetsvette and that wing looks pretty darn good on the Gen3 when you also add in that you have the splitter in the front. This video does not really do justice on how big the thing really is yet at the same time how light it is. It is as wide as the car, outside or wheel to wheel, so as the roof of the car rolls in the wing extends out beyond. The vid is from Youtube and is an earlier edition from the R53/R56. The wing is just as big with the brackets changing for the Gen3 body. This is an older vid but you can see the wing around 4:20. On the donuts, the HotnReady sign was not on but those that were in the display case were quite tasty . . . .
Howerton does not deal with Aquamist any longer because Aquamist cut out all the dealer/vendors. Aquamist does everything directly now. It is an easy setup that does not need a Dyno but you have to be able to read and follow instructions like with any modification. Below are the links to Aquamist direct and the Aquamist Support Fourms. http://www.aquamist-direct.com/?fullSite=1 http://www.aquamist.co.uk/forum2/vbulletin/
I ceramic coated the insides of my new wheels and made an appointment for a wheel alignment before the Dragon. I got some shop towels in, as usual, for the Dragon if anyone wants some. I picked up some supplies for the M/A Tent. A good day, all in all...
I talked to Chad about installing it at the Dragon and he feels more comfortable installing it in his shop, which is OK with me as it means I get to go to the Dream Cruise in August. I have not picked up my car yet as all the work isn't completed (380 injectors, splitter, taillights). I'll post the results as soon as I drive it....and then again, after the Dragon.
Woohoo! Got my Milltek fixed today. The cut off my resonator..car is a tad louder now, but worlds apart than what it was when I drove it to the shop. $30 is all it took and about 20 minutes! Now, on to an oil change and a tranny flush.
