Removed and remounted the brackets on my CF wing using Loctite. Had one screw backed out and another come halfway loose last week. Readjusted angle of attack. Now just need to run it a little this week and make sure everything's still tight.
I took my wheels off to wash them back and front. (white wheels) . I like the look, but boy it's getting to be alot of work at my age.
Saturday: finally buttoned up all the maintenance issues on the MINI. Put a factory suspension back into it, due to issues that popped up during the coil-over rebuild. Going to drop it off for an alignment in the next day or so.
I learned how to set up my air suspension...which I will be doing tonight before my alignment tomorrow.
When you have them off and cleaned you should coat the with Gyeon RIM. It would make cleaning much easier. https://www.esotericcarcare.com/gyeon-q2-rim/
My S won't get washed until we get to Fontana. It's fairly clean but the orange wheels are not, due to those crappy OEM pads and rotors. Never again. At least I upgraded to a hi temp brake fluid.
This is the first time I've had an alignment done at what I consider a good shop. The tech was having trouble loosening the front tie rods to adjust them and he brings me out to show me what they look like. They're completely rounded and seized. The last place that did the alignment was a Ford stealership by my house. Before that was mostly Kauffman Tire and there was one trip to a MINI stealership. I don't know which shop f'd them up (Ford-cough cough), BUT, I'm having outer and inner tie rods changed as well today. Came in expecting to spend about $120. Will be leaving spending about $500. Yay Figure I'm having to pay for all the sloppy work early on..... Damnit.....
Not sure how many miles on your MINI, but tie rods are a wear item & a pretty important one too. Now you'll have a nice new set, all good. As for the Ford dealer doing an alignment, what's up with that? You've learned a lesson & now you know where to go in the future. No worries we've all been there.
Updated my old PIAA wiper blades with brand new PIAA wiper blades. Then went out to add gas to my gas tank. WOW! 94 Octane hit $2. per liter in the Vancouver BC area today!
I don’t care how much gas costs. Even at $5.00 a gallon I will still drive like this weekend 800+ miles to the Dragon plus a week of Dragon driving and 800+ back.
She's getting to be an old lady now at about 122k. The Ford dealership does a great job with our truck, figured what the hell... and here we are. But yes lesson learned.
Got the ol girl's windshield tinted at 50% and also an eyebrow stuck on this past weekend. Don't worry about how dirty she was in that pic, we had about a 2 month stretch where it rained off and on like daily. It was also the longest she's gone without a bath whilst in my care. All clean now! The rest of the car will be re-tinted sometime after MOTD. The old tint is scratchy in places and seems to be lesser quality than the new film.
