Well today I found something that will stick to coating, lucky me. Sap, we have a tree that drips sap year round over the driveway. I got it off but the sun today did a god job baking it on the car. It may have been easer to just wash it.
I wiped it down with some of the Cure that came with the kit. I thought of water could not worm. But was in a hurry. Next time I will use worm water. Thanks.
Got the blue Clubby in for some much needed maintenance before I tow the Racing Green classic to Aspen next month....fresh oil and filter, checked all the brakes, changed the coolant, flushed the brake fluid (don't need to boil the fluid on the way back down the mountain!) and on inspecting the tires, ordered a new set from Tire Rack this morning.
I drove across the border to Blaine Washington to buy gas. I save about $20 CDN a tank after currency conversion by buying gas in the US. I also noted that the closer to the border crossing and the highway, the price varies. So if you drive the extra 1/2 mile and get off the highway, the fuel costs less too. The price varied from 3.99 per US Gal to 3.69 per US Gal. BTW I thought Chevron had super premium 94 octane fuel. I didn't find any in Blaine. Was I mistaken? I was going to go for the good stuff but didn't find any. They have 94 Octane (and no ethanol) in Canada but that comes in at $2.00 per liter.
Old guy was giving me no AC, no PS, lotsa lights....& too much charging at 17v. Extracted the regulator off a spare used R50 Denso alternator, put the car up on service mode...not w/o cursing the complexities of such a supposedly simple job. All that work to replace such a lil piece. Grateful & blessed to have buttoned everything up....w/o hitches & extra parts. Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk
Had my 05 Cooper towed to Helix to have the Gremlin that has taken up residence inside her exorcised. If that is successful then we will see what comes next.
This was yesterday...... Was taking the Mini to my appointment at the VA this morning when the car died before I made it a mile. Check engine light and bucking like a bronco before quitting completely. Finally got it started and nursed it home where I only had to wait about 45 minutes before Mini Roadside Assistance had the rollback at my door. The driver was very conscientious and meticulous when loading my car. This was even more challenging because the car wouldn't start at all, so He had to jockey the rollback in position to pull it onto the truck backwards. By the way, those beautiful tow hooks that RaceSeng makes and sells are not just bling. They are plenty strong enough to actually tow the vehicle! It took a little while because the car sits pretty low and has that aggressive splitter. I felt a lot better when the driver told me that he tows McClarens, Bentleys, and other exotics on a regular basis. We dropped the car off and the Service Manager had a spiffy new Safety Orange Justa for me to drive while they figure out what's wrong with my baby. The loaner. Only 1100 miles on it when I left the dealership.
It looks good! I really like the wing. I hope they find the problem. I wonder if it’s the short between the seat and steering wheel?
Could very well be. After I removed said short from the cockpit, the damned thing started right up for the Service Manager. Told them to wring it out and do whatever they had to to fix it. Found out this evening that it's ready to pick up. I'll be going down there Saturday morning to swap cars. Seems that when they hooked it back up to the computer, the car somehow went back in time ~2 years. They queried the DME and the darned thing thought it was 2017. Yet when they did the software update on April 29th the printout confirmed the update. I hate computers. We'll see how it does on the trip home. Good experiences with Roadside Assistance, the Towing Company, and Flow Mini's Service Manager. Could have been much worse. And it was kinda neat riding around for a couple of days in a soft riding car that you had to watch the tach to be sure it was running. It was so quiet I could hear the thoughts rattling around in my head. Never a good thing.
Hay did you install one of these? https://www.oreillyauto.com/flux-500.html remember you have to get the car to 88 MPH before activating it, you must have been a little slow so only the ECU went back to the Future.......er um time Those Flux Capacitors can be flaky at times
