My wife, in her local travels, has managed to blow out the sidewall on one of her new tires...out of warranty, unfortunately, so I've been looking for a new one to replace the doughnut that's now on her car. Dammit, there goes another $100 or so. I wish our city would invest in some street repair, rather than to add another park or cut down more trees for summertime street concerts.
Today I washer the R53 the R58 was dirty but it rained this morning and cleaned it for me. Coating is great!!
This is the little one I picked running across the Foothills Parkway. Rat bastard stones! 6-8 inches long. I will have the windshield replaced after I get back from my road trip to Teddy’s Funeral this Friday in Cincinnati Ohio.
Cheap gas! I was out of country for three weeks and away from M/A for longer. I filled up with Shell 91 today and it was $3.55 per gal. Well I thought gas was going to be down before memorial day. So sad to hear about Teddy's passing, RIP one of our better friends on M/A, The Dragon and in the gun-thread. Don
No, these are General Tire G-MAX AS-03s...great tires, but not so great when my wife is doing her daily routine in our pothole-filled city, I guess.
got a great deal on Bridgestone Potenza 907 a/s for $96 from a local store's special deal and am strongly thinking to buy more! I'll never see that price again, since Tire Rack wants $150 each!
took the wife's car in to get the tire fixed today and it was a no-go...the sidewall was ripped in a 10 inch gash. she vaguely remembers the steering getting really wobbly so she limped to a parking lot across the street from where it happened and saw the flat the AAA guy told her the tire was trashed, or I suppose she woulda tried driving on home. now I know why her car's in such bad shape...she never really pays attention to what's happening until sumpin baaad happens [and never tells me about it til it happens].
You're a good guy, Dave. I know Teddy will be happy you went. I can't go and will send a card and make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Finally finished wiring up my LCI taillights on my R53. Got triple reverse lights now lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
In London for work... so didn’t do anything with mine. But did get a few pics.. some are not Mini... but IMO interesting. Let’s start with this one.. creative use of the engine bay. MINI in good company.. Not a MINI.... an alpine. Wish we got those in the US Bristol is making a comeback. This is the showroom. They are going to make a new car it appears. Hiding from me.. Ole Fiat abarth. Last but not least.. my favorite so far
Thanks for the pics Sully. That yellow thing is some sort of Fiat, but I can't remember the model. Never imported here.
Today after the hotel fire alarm went off in Cincinnati at 2 am I left. I had a nice 8 hour drive all the way back to the burbs of Philly. No tickets thanks to my V1 but lots of cops in Ohio. In PA I saw 14 state troops all with radar on picking off people left and right. I was not tagged today. Yippie. Notes from Teddy gathering. The family wanted to thank everyone that took care of Teddy on his last trip to MOTD. OHIO ROADS SUCK. They had great display of photos including lots with friends from the MINI community and his cars including the VW’s. OHIO ROADS SUCK. They also wanted to say thank everyone for the kind words and donations to Wounded Warriors Fund in Teddy’s name. Have a great weekend everyone and remember......... OHIO ROADS SUCK!
Started to remove the checkered vinyl off the roof. Expected ghosting lines but not for it to be yellowing underneath...fml Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
OHIO ROADS SUCK No they don't...... OHIO ROADS SUCK No they don't....... Dave you justa don't know where the good roads are. Ohio has many of them. You need a local guide.
Nothing Mini related. Jeep.......I hate Jeeps! Long Motorcycle ride yesterday, 9 hours and 11 min when it was all done. I was on my way home, asl I went through Jackson TN my wife called. I know it must be important so I pulled over, she told me my daughter was broke down on I40 about 35 miles ahead of me, she was half between Jackson and Memphis. The alternator went bad. I told my wife what tools to bring and parts to stop and get and bring them to me. I hit the gas found my daughter and her friend on the shoulder. When My wife got there I changed the alternator and belt. The old one had locked up and she drove till the Jeep died. I tried charging the battery for 30 min but it just made it to an exit where we parked it for the night. Today my wife and I took the battery out of the R53 went back only to find the alternator was not charging. Went and exchanged it only to find the second one not working. Turns out the exciter wires are not sending a signal. Finally called a tow, I wasn't sure the battery would make it home. so it sits in the driveway like a Raven saying Never More Never More. I hate Jeeps!! I think its the PCM but what do I know about Jeeps. You haven't lived till you have changer an alternator on the interstate. I'll save the story about blowing by the MC riding in formation. I found out last night my Indian can cruse very fast without even thinking about it.
Spent a little time this morning re-programming all my bells and whistles that the dealer erased last week. Rear fogs, fog lights with high beams, auto up with fob, etc. Wondered why it had been feeling sluggish since I got it back, until I realized it was in mid mode. I removed the selector switch when I installed the CravenSpeed Shift Well Cover and have to use Bimmercode to select "Sport". All good now. I'll drive it for a while with just the JCW Tune until I'm sure my problem doesn't come back, and then worry about the BT Tune. Y'all have a good weekend.
