When I was running my 07 with a RMW tune, the dealer had a standing order, do not touch Don's ECU or die. I had many a conversation with an SA over this issue. But the service manager at the time was an enthusiast and helped me build the suspension on that 07. It was a sweet little surprise for the big guys at the lapping days. I do hope all were happy and well on this Memorial Day, our flag is out and soon to come in at dusk. Don
Drove the family car (the Countryman) to Costco to fill the tank. At Costco in Canada in BC (North America's most expensive and taxed fuel), it cost $85CDN. It would have been over $100CDN at a "normal" gas station. If I had crossed the border, it would have cost around $45USD. For some reason, the border line ups was over 90 minutes both ways. Welcome back to my US based friends. Respect to those who fought (or fight) for the freedoms we enjoy. Especially those who gave their lives for us.
I spent $201.65 on new rear wheel hubs/bearings on a car I drove for 265 miles last year and never had bearing issues with. However, since I am ripping it all apart in the rear, I figured get 'er dun right and put the removed parts into the other car that's making funky sounds back there, just to see if that's what was causing it. I already did an oil change on Sunday, after less than 2000 miles (but 2+ years...). New drain plug with magnet went in while I was doing that. Blue Mini got a whack on the driver side window lifter again - it keeps acting up too much lately, so I'll have to replace that thing this year as well.
I cleaned my car and this weekend I will take off the A pillars and lower glass trim so the new windshield can go in next Tuesday. Pilkington windshield w/rain sensor installed at my house $300.00. The dealership’s can suck it asking for $1,100.00 for a windshield. Hahahahaha
Good call on removing those parts yourself. The funny thing is your dealer most likely would have the same glass company do the work & then add $800 to the bill. Dealers always farm out glass work.
Ordered some justa clubster parts from the good folks at eMINIparts.com. They shipped out today. Thanks Steven!
I know this as a guy at the dealership told me to call this company since it is who they use for MINI’s and BMW’S. The company I use for glass work does all the local dealership‘s and high end bodyshops’s.
Installed Grom Audio BT3 module. I put the mic in the factory location. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Went for a fun drive. Tomorrow I am going on a run to meet up with buddies to have lunch and see John Wick 3
Heading out in the classic Mini to crash a local Triumph Club picnic (naw, I was invited - along with the local MG club) They're having an interesting feature, the picnic is in Shawnee Mission Park which has a several mile long ring road around it, and they offered to let people drive club member's cars - around the park road and with the owner aboard. This is a chance to drive that TR3 or MG TD you always wondered about! Should be fun! The weather should be perfect too - 75* and sunny.
