Good your daughter is ok, I am sure she is getting a full checkup with a Doc. Sad for the Jeep and Sad for the Merc. Sad all around she had to have an accident. Perhaps a MINI is in her future (one of the big ones). Don
Changed my fuel filter @ 68k. It was pretty black and dirty. Followed Mod Mini YouTube video, 30 min job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Overcast and hot today, I took advantage and washed the TIE fighter, put some wax on it and am about to re-black the plastic- all while watching LeMans in the garage Great day!
Thanks, I love this car. I’ve been through many and this I will continue to put money into damn the return, I’m not selling it anytime soon or ever.
Nothing today but errands. Tomorrow I am getting an oil change at RAC Performance, as well as a complete safety check. I am going on a 600+ mile round trip to Port Arthur this weekend for my 40-year HS reunion. Man, I'm getting old. I have a nice rental car reserved, just in case RAC finds some reason my MINI isn't up to the long drive, but the drive is mostly country roads through east Texas, so I'd prefer to take the MINI. I hope to cancel the rental. CD
Took it to a local meet in Earls Barton and then stopped for some food on the way home and parked next to another mini and hot chatting for ages. Been a lovely day. SEO Dubai
Dropped the 09 Clubman S off at the dealer last night so they could cold start it this morning - I think the timing chain is gone - again. This will be it's third one......I thought the replacements they came up with years ago were "the answer" to the timing chain problems on the N14 engines......guess not. Of course, it could turn out to be something else. Since I'm leaving for Colorado on Sunday, if it is bad I'll just have them change it, then I'll argue about paying for it. They've been really good to me so I don't really expect to get a free one at 10 years old and 85K miles, even if they did change it only 35K ago.
Took the Mini to meet my Daughter for lunch. While I was out I topped the tank up with ethanol-free 93 octane for $3.04 gallon and my Daughter topped off the Suburban with regular @ $1.94 a gallon. Days like today I wish I could run regular.
Crossed another mileage milestone on my way home from the office yesterday. Thanks for coming along for the ride, MA.
Ethanol free 93 is about 40c more per gallon than 93 octane Shell, Mobil, etc. around here. There are only two stations in my county that have it, too.
I got my maintenance work done at RAC Performance today, and Hans told me that Sewell MINI of Plano had closed up shop. They just weren't selling enough cars. However, there service department was always packed. There's good money in Service. Interesting note, before it was a MINI dealership, the property was a Saab/Hummer dealership. Jinxed? CD
