Wow, that was a BIG Mini dealership too..... I picked mine up tonight from the MINI dealer, $800 poorer... turns out it was the water pump...spendy little bastard! But I just didn't have time to DIY it before I leave for Colorado. They charged me $24 for new antifreeze, and I had just changed it the night before!
Had a couple of no shows at work yesterday, so went outside with gloves and wet paper towels and wiped two or three months worth of brake dust off my wheels.
Time to replace the worn out badge. The car is almost to my standards since I bought it used. You would think they put more attention to durability of their own name but most MINIs I see have worn out emblems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I started a little paint paint project on a set of S side vents I picked up for $20 at the Dragon. I stripped off all the PlastiDip off of them and I am painting the black with a red S. Yesterday I did all the prep and applied a thin coat of primer. It’s very humid today so I may hold off on the block color coat for a day or so.
Shell in West Chester with my Shell Gold reward card. I was up to .65 cents off a gallon after my round trip to the Dragon. I have my Shell rewards card linked to a few cards and my bank card. Every bill I pay earns me discounts on fuel. I friend pays all his bills and mortgage with his Amazon card. He earns cash back hand over fist so anything he wants he orders from Amazon for free with 1 day Prime shipping.
I have the Shell rewards card too. I thought there was a Shell station that is much cheaper than the rest of the area. The normal job discounted price of Shell 93 here is $3.24
In the Vancouver BC area, premium gas works out to 7.32CDN for a US Gallon. Which is about $5.50 per gallon. At Costco, it might be around $4.00 a gallon. Yes, Vancouver is getting ripped because the environmental kooks want us to ditch our cars and take non-existent alternative means of getting around.
Oh, Dave, I just paid $2.67 yesterday at Kroger, which uses Shell premium...10.5 gallons for less than $30! Aired up the tires in the S and cleaned all the brake crap off those burnt orange holeys, which look great now. Also got the Milltek fixed as well as that vinyl thingie behind the front air dam bolted to the frame...total cost $37.
Skooby got 4 warped brake rotors rotors replaced under warranty. One new rear caliper & 2 rear hub/wheel bearings replaced. An oil change, engine air filter, cabin filter & 4 French spark plugs. Hopefully Skooby is good for many more miles & years of service. (arthritic fingers crossed)
Washed the Helmet. Its was a quick wash. I knew it was going to rain this afternoon and the rest of the week. But one of the cats had laid all over it. It had fur and muddy paw prints all over it! The hood, roof and even the rear wing!!
