Diesel is not for me. I'm happy to stick with what I have. Some places raised their prices immediately, but others have not, so it comes down to searching for the cheaper gas, as long as it's Premium.
Well, in Texas, gas taxes are used to build and maintain roads, although our state government is anti-tax, so they are making every decent highway a toll road. My county has four major highways, and three of them are tollways. As far as I am concerned, a toll is a tax that only applies to some people. I would personally rather pay 10-cents more for a gallon of gas, than pay 10-bucks in tolls to drive to the airport. Even though I work mostly at home, I still spend as much per month on tolls as I do on gasoline. Sometimes more. CD
10.5 cents per gallon. My cars need more than 10.5 cents per gallon to fill up and that means more money. All I hope for is that the tax monies go to fix our crummy and crumbling infrastructure and not add to some politician's porky lifestyle.
Sounds like Orlando! I know those toll roads in Big D, the most confusing setup I've ever driven thru..... Oklahoma is worse in some ways......I drove all the way from Amarillo to Tulsa on 44, tolls all the way and the worst road I've driven since I-90 in Wisconsin. Love paying for the privilege of driving terrible roads!
Went thru two extremes on the way home from Mini Meet East Meets West in Snowmass, Colorado and across Kansas. First pic is the top of Independence Pass at just over 12K feet. On the event the Racing Green Classic did better than expected at altitude, engine ran fine compared to some who could barely get theirs to run, and even tho it was down some on power, it still pulled the hills to the top of Indep Pass just fine. On the way home it was 43* at the top of the Pass, 102 going across Kansas.

Nothing Mini. My daughter is using my truck for now, her jeep is totaled. I told her no passengers. I went to get gas in it this morning. Yes she has had friends in the truck and someone spilled something on the passengers side seat! Tried to clean it up I got the spill up but there is something els on it I can't get up. I am not amused! This will be the final warning!
If I was in a similar situation the privilege of using Dad's wheels would be gone. I know it's tough Lee, but they do grow up & learn eventually. Hang in there Dad.
My daughter is now 35 with kids, she is VERY responsible but back in those days, well lets just say we could swap stories.
Nothing done yesterday...let the 1973 Leyland Australia Mini rest after the +3,000 miles return trip to Mini Meet East Meets in Snowmass, Colorado. Three Classic Minis travelled together - a modified 1962 'Woody' Countryman (1275cc/"S" disc brakes), a modified 1976 Mini 1000 Canadian market sedan (1275cc/disc brakes), 1973 modified 1185cc/8.4" disc brakes. We took 3 days to get from Fraser Valley, near Metro Vancouver in British Columbia to Snowmass and 5 days home via Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks. PHOTO: 3 Minis & 3 Grand Tetons
Took my car in to the MINI dealership (the new Vancouver MINI, formerly known as MINI Yaletown) for an oil change and brake fluid flush. What could go wrong, right? Seems the whole crew in the service center is brand new. They no longer provide me with the customary discount, but they did lower the price of service overall. So it isn't a lot more expensive than an outside place. Even a bit less, actually. BUT...when I got my car back, they forgot to reset the oil change reminder. Nor did the mechanic know how to reset it. He took my car back into the shop to do it. My scangauge was unplugged, the cable pulled out, and the Scangauge reset to factory settings. I had to reprogram a few things in it to work with my MINI. I think this is the last time my car is going back there. The Countryman is still under warranty and all servicing is still covered so that is the only car that still has to go back there for a few more years. The thing I did like was they didn't come up with a list of things I need to have looked into or repaired.
