I had lowered mine about the same as well. Only thing is that little skirt thing under the front bumper cover thing was so close to the ground. I scraped it on everything. Trimmed it up a bit, and have an extra cover, if I ever put it back to stock ride height.

Looks good but, you need to add the center caps.

What kind of dashcam did you get? A two channel one? I've been thinking that I should get one of those too.

The way you drive rally boy you sure you want to give them evidence?:D I mean using your hand brake in turns rallying is one thing but on the street in your GTI is another, cool but the man may not think so:D:eek:

There is some truth to that. Not me driving like Stig Blomqvist :Stig:, but any camera footage being used against me in a court of law.

The GTI does not do hand brake turns all that well. The damned stability nanny & traction nanny go nuts when I do that.

Miss my my MINI, it had no DSC :D & the traction nanny was shut up with an Ian Cull circuit.

Does the GTI have an actual parking brake lever?
Most cars are now coming with a frikkin' switch.....:(

Yes it has an old school lever. My GTI is a 2013 & has none of that modern carp in it. Although it has the now mandatory stability control & I hate it. :Banghead:

I got one from a promo on at BH Photos, it' s a Geko Starlit

    https://www.techwelike.com/2018/12/geko-s200-starlit-dash-camera-review/

It's nothing super fancy, but I trust it will do the job for me, for now. It's the first one I've purchased, and to be honest, was a bit of an impulse buy at $70 bucks.

This piece fell off my MINI's glove box latch back in June.

That meant for the last two months, opening the glove box mean doing the index finger contortionist method of opening the door.
Last night I found a big thick paper clip and fixed it. I have a working glove box door latch again. No way I was going pay $200 for a new glove box over a 10 cent piece of plastic.

Took the Mini for a quick run around the block to get the juices flowing, since it's been sitting for a month. Saw this and thought it was funny. My neighbor is one of several farms in the county experimenting with hemp crops to replace growing tobacco for a living. Lot of people don’t realize that the maximum THC content is .3% or lower. You could get high quicker by smoking Kudzu. Guy’s nuts, and his crop is pretty puny, but I do like his sign. :Cigar: fullsizeoutput_a9d.jpeg

Once I saw I could turn off the DSC nanny I have never turned it back on.

You are not really driving a MINI they way it should be driven with DSC on.

I don't know how to permanently turn off dsc, but I always flip it off when I turn my mini on. So fun!

The Helmet has two levels press once to turn off the DSC or what ever it is, I don’t remember, hold it down to turn it off completely off.

I would like to have a Mk1 GTI

If you find yourself an Ian Cull auto up circuit it will make your DSC or traction nanny default to off when you start the car. It's called track mode.

I've seen someplace that there is a circuit of some sort to do that on the R56 Minis.

I think Outmotoring may have them.

MK1 GTI would be fun. I'd like an R32, love the VR6 engine.

Ian Cull, similar to doing the ISTA thing? I have hooked my laptop and turned it off in there before. Just didnt like that the DSC light was always on. Had reversed it.
