Something like this? That is a supercharger down low. Extremely rare.

    Alfa002.jpg

I'll try to remember to ask John if he ran it at VIR. I know he drove it -- a lot, and all over the world. Maybe you saw it. I don't know, but I'll try to remember to ask.

Can't be 100% sure, but the engine bay and paint job look the same. Does it have the single exhaust pipe running down the left side? Had a unique sound.

Yes. Wide open headers and exhaust. Those small displacement 8-cylinder Alfa engines have a very distinctive sound.

    Yearly inspection.
No surprises except some cracking of the
    10 year old drive belt.
I have the belt and tool already so will
    do that myself soon.
Will take a good look at the crank pulley
when I do the belt as I have that part lying
    around as well if necessary.

Dave, I didn't know that was a thing. That said, this was the first time I've done brakes on this car since they were covered by MINI till 100k. Just solder the two lines and that removes the sensor for good? Where the hell have I been....

I made a couple of sun shields for the sunroofs on my R56. Those perforated screens may be ideal I cooler climates, but here in Vegas, not so much! Difference is amazing. Easily removed when we’re not “hotter than the hubs of hell” . Easy to make.

I deleted my post about getting my r50 ready for this weekend's BCD in Dayton, OH. Unfortunately, they will have to get by this year without "The Welsh Mini", as I am unable to attend.

It's ok here but the new dog is driving my crazier than ever and he's too young to leave caged til I'd get home. There is no way I'd take him to piss and crap on everyone down there. So, I'll just have to wait to next year [if I live that long].

He can hardly wait for me to shut off the ignition! He'll never drive as his legs are too short...even for a MINI. He's a cockapoo puppy and is really curtailing my fun time [like car shows], but so far he's doing as well as a puppy in need of doggy Ritalyn [sp?] can do.

Think I may have figured out the Cylinder 1 misfire. Had injectors out and looked in at the intake valves. Stems are oily as hell. Only cylinder 1 intake stems though. Might explain the oily residue on the spark plug, and rough few starts until it smooths out. Usually have to turn it off and on a few times then runs perfect. Then if it sits long enough, same thing again. Guess I'm doing some valve seal replacing this weekend.

Let me know if this sounds about right.
