Sounds like valve seals to me. I'd be curious if you have a worn valve guide on the cylinder too. Easy enough to check.
My passenger side sun visor lost the ability to hold up the piece you flip up to see the mirror and turn on the lights. I got tired of complaints that you have to hold that up with one hand to use the lighted mirror from my wife, so I replaced the passenger sun visor (sort of). I tried fixing the old one first, but there we’re a few broken clips and tabs and cracks that prevented any repair. The new one has a bad ground wire between the connector and the guts. I had already soaked off the warning decal, making it harder to return, so I popped off the plastic part that clips into the new frame and put it on the old frame with the still working wiring and bulbs. Works fine now.
I guess after asking us how to remove the door handle you didn't want our help on how to wrap the dash? Go figure!
Sounds right to me, sorry. But perhaps it would be best to replace the whole head.....can you say RMW big valve head??
Haha, trust me, I've been all over that trying to be like, "why not?" I have been wanting an excuse to get one!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Any time I have a head off I always have every thing redone. So if you think of it the BVH is a better value. It has been completely reworked. Thats the argument I would use. As a matter of fact I have used that argument and it worked. When I was around 19 I needed to rebuild my X1/9. My mom was helping buy me the parts I needed. I talked her into a little extra for big valves and had a machine shop do the work form, I still had to port and polish it myself but I got a BVH. Good luck.
Here let me help. http://store-revolutionmini-com.3dcartstores.com/RMW-Big-Valve-Head-wcore-charge-added_p_76.html life is short, go for it. It will make your wife happy to see you happy.
I agree with Lee, since you have the head off at the very least get a good valve job done. RMW head if the money God's approve.
With the most rundown of houses going for over $1M in the Vancouver BC area, there are quite a few people selling and moving. That means lots of garage sales. I dropped into a garage sale last week and found this. I asked how much, and they just gave it to me. The frame itself is worth more than $50. There were other prints behind the one on the front too. Looks like I'm hoarding MINI paraphrenalia. I'm trying not to. But the fact that people are dumping their stuff tells me former MINIacs are also leaving the MINI brand. Another person emailed me last night and asked if I wanted their back issues collection of MC2 magazines.
Got the driving lights off, prepped and dipped last night. I had really been wanting to avoid dipping them, but to buy a set of OEM black housing, or redo them was just looking too spendy for an already spendy enough upcoming project. These came out fine, and made sure that I got it thick enough that it will pull off in the future. Also, got in the black door handle covers and door cups, test fit and fine, so that should alleviate having to take the handles off of Wolfgang when wrap time comes. Belt-line black out kit is in, gas cap cover is in, and black LED side repeaters test fit and fine. Waiting on black Scuttles. The COOPER S emblem will be replaced with simple, black R53 emblem. Also going with a blacked out MINI Wings on the rear. The wrap color is now the hangup. Was really trying to go with a Dodge Sublime Green, but the sample we were told was close, is NOT close, way too much yellow. I have about 8 other samples coming, having resigned myself to the fact we may not get an exact match, but in the ball park will be fine, so long as I love it. This Gloss Lime, I just don't love. It's all cosmetic, and I'm looking forward to switching it up. Shop time is scheduled for the week of October 12th, but I am biting at the bit to get it done. Not that I don't love Wolfgang, he's a sharp MINI, just preserving his beauty with a face lift, is all.
