FINALLY, after a lot of hunting, I secured this Type H Rear Diffuser. It will need some minimal prep as far as sanding, and paint, then have to sort out the mounting and hardware. I was told from AIT Racing that this may be the last one around, they had been sitting on it for a few years. Here's the product, and what it will look like installed.

Also have made some rear cutouts for the bumper, will get into that this weekend I hope.

A seemingly never ending task with these cars.

    I did this today
    IMG_6985.JPG

Esoteric had a sale on micro fiber towels so I ordered two a few weeks ago. I thought they would be soft but will they really be better than what I get at AutoZone? Well howdy they are! they are super soft. I used one to dry The Helmet. I believe I will be ordering more.

My silver wheels are easy to keep clean because they are ceramic coated with Gyeon Rim.

I just use soap & water and rinse.

Howdy, strangers. I haven't been here in a while, but I haven't done anything interesting with my MINI in a while. Business is slow right now, so money is tight, and it is STILL f----ng hot here -- mid 90s and no rain. We didn't get one drop of that tropical storm rain up here in North Texas.

I haven't experienced a lot of brake dust on my MINI. I don't know what kind of pads I have -- they were on the car when I bought it and they still have over 50-percent on them. I'm guessing they are pretty hard pads.

I sent used Mobil-1 out for testing on a couple of my Audis, including the twin-turbo V6, and at 10,000 miles, the report came back showing the oil was probably good for another 5,000 miles. I've been changing oil with high-quality synthetic oil for over 20 years at 10K miles. And, I live in Texas. It gets really hot here.

If that many miles is going to keep you awake at night, go ahead and change at 5,000 miles. But, there is pretty good science behind going 10,000 miles on the quality synthetics.

Welcome back CD. I didn't mean to start another oil thread. LOL ;)

Since you don't have much brake dust I think someone may have changed those pads out for ceramic ones. The oem pads are made from coal dust, if you had those you'd know.

My car sits out all day long at work. Poor film was turning black on the edges from the heat/exposure. Still was easy to take off with a little heat and solvent for the left over adhesive. But the lens looked like new underneath.......love this stuff.

Swapped out the oil last night and gave her a bath. She's now at 130k and starting to get some rattles when going over bumps. This weekend will do some investigating. The control arm links are fairly recent. Not sure where the rattles are coming from yet but it's front and rear.

Changed the oil, the MINI now has 50,000 miles on it. I will change the oil in the automatic transmission next week.

I've been hearing something banging under the car when I drive over rough surfaces like my gravel driveway. It turned out that the exhaust hangers just ahead of the second catalytic converter were not attached to the exhaust pipe! They were easy to reattach, but I think it has been like that since it was new, though I have only started hearing the clanking sound in the last few months. It is all better now.

I'm pretty sure you'd get more protection from extra virgin olive oil. :p Eight quarts wow that's a lot. Bet you can go 20,000 miles before you need to change it again. ;)
