The MINI transmission is way more difficult to access, the engine must be raised to get the transmission's pan off.
Off with the Dragon / Summer tire and wheels. On with the S-Heavies with new All-Season tires with deep tread. Like I will be driving in the snow. Lol
My filthy S got a new rt. front wheel bearing yesterday, so today, I took it out for a drive with LOKI the Terrible. The car ran well, so now I get to see what else might go wrong before the Dragon. For sure, a new set of 15s will be on the car this Spring and some high temp brake fluid. Hell, I might even wash the car before that, but we'll have to wait til I get the 16" Blizzaks on it, as it's too low for the car wash with these crappy 15s on it right now.
Got a tube of Hotchkis 3101 Super Lube and a grease gun and lubed the rear sway bar bushings (25.5 mm hollow competition bar with zerks on the bushing mounts). Added 3-4 psi in all the tires to make up for the drop in am temperatures lately.
I need to add air to my winter tire also as I was screeching all over yesterday with the Tq my car has. I did not even have the Meth on.
Snow what is that? I would have to drive 2 or 3 hours to get in snow in the winter time. Besides my car hasn't been in the rain before.
I have a Aquamist Methenol injection system on my R53 JCW that sprays VP M-1 100% into my intake / head for more power. It can get complicated to explain but the end result is more power, cleaner internal engine and more frequent oil changes. Oil only last 2,500 to 3,000 miles tops in my car because of my high power build.
Thank you! Funny thing is that now with Pro exhaust, CAI, NM PM, I don't think on these Mountain Rds I would want the car any faster. With NM wheel control arms and the big pair I feel as the suspension and handling are already not up to part with the power. On tracks should be a different ball game. Stay well, Ara
I FINALLY broke down and washed my S and its [International Garbage Truck painted and clear coated] flame orange holies today. Damn...I had forgotten how nice the car looks when it's clean...well, not clean like Dave's, but it's a helluva lot better than what it was...and the wheels are shiny again, too!
I have the Akebono ceramic pads on the wife's Audi, they work well - they feel even better than the OEM Audi pads - and they have lasted well, about 40K on them now. Best of all - no black on the front wheels ever again!
