I finally washed and cleaned out my MINI, too. It has spent so much time in the garage lately that it gets mostly dust. But, the carpets were pretty dirty -- certainly more than I usually allow. It looks good now. Temperatures are also finally dropping below 90F, so, it is getting fun to drive, again. CD
This was actually a couple of weeks ago. Went rental car motoring on the very narrow and twisty roads on Mykonos Greece.
Jacked up the Helmet and found the rattle was the left coileover. the spring was loose. So I measured the right side and set the left the same. It still has a rattle but not as much as before.
On the way home today I noticed a little stumble when accelerating. No lights or anything. I had the plugs and coils replaced at around 75k I believe and currently at just over 130k. Gonna replace them and see if that fixes it. Are there any plugs I should avoid? Leaning towards some Bosch Iridiums. I've not yet changed the plugs myself since she was under extended maintenance till 100k. Already have the socket.
Washed the R50 today. It was good to see the white wheels again! However, on the way home, my dog hit my pop and it is splattered al over the dash and the glove box. Sigh, always something to clean with that little rat
Nothing, giving it rest...… Just got home from CMU 60 in Va, towed the Racing Green classic Mini out and back again without one bit of trouble, went over 92K miles now, averaged 25 mpg at 73 mph. That seems to be a good speed for the interstate, fast enough to get past the millions of trucks, but slow enough that the cars can whizz on past. Ran on the cruise control most of the way......about 2500 miles round trip including the detour to see my daughter and grandkids in North Carolina.
Just got my baby back from the body shop(2012 R58 JCW Helmet clone) after six weeks. Drugged up lady with a police ankle monitor on hit me in the ass while I was stopped in traffic. She went right to the slammer and is still there. Thank god she was driving her mother's car that had insurance on it, it was totaled, mine came out to $8k The shop did an excellent job (Todd Autobody Greencastle, Pa).
I am glad it didn't total your R58! Black is hard color to match, that must be a good shop you took it to. Pictures?
I put it in the garage, we're taking the Audi on our 25th anniversary weekend starting tomorrow - to the Lake of the Ozarks. Taking the Poodle Boys with us too! Heaven help us....
After nine years, it was time to change the original battery in my MINI. I put a Duralast G6 AGM battery in it, 760 cold cranking amps. It's made by Johnson Controls, I shopped for Johnson Controls batteries locally, this was the cheapest at $195.00. It fit just fine.
I believe I found the stutter culprit. And since when are Champion plugs OE? Anyways new plugs are in and the stumble under acceleration is gone.
